Re: new quilt top
Aren't you clever to design your own quilt.. I don't think I could ever do that.. It is very pretty and I love it. You did a great job. I am sure it will bring comfort to who ever gets it.

Re: new quilt top
I love the design and the idea behind the quilts, what a wonderful thing to do.
Way back, when I belonged to the local quilt qroup, a couple of us wanted to do charity quilts and got howled down at the meeting.
Once we all made house blocks to be made into a quilt to be raffled, with the money to go to the local nursing home.....then "the powers that be" decided the money from the raffle should be used instead to by a huge roll of batting for the quilt group!!
Needless to say I am no longer a member, haven't been for quite a while.

What a great purpose and beautiful quilt. I have always liked gray and pink together.

SewSew, beautiful quilt! I applaud ya'll for doing this! You mentioned ya'll rely on donations to make the quilts, and I would be very happy to donate if you'll message me with your address. It'd be a couple weeks before I could send anything because I've got BOM's and swaps to catch up on and the Christmas stockings for troops project is in full swing, but I would really love to contribute to this very worthwhile cause. And a list of specific items ya'll need the most would also be helpful.

mcmema, the medallion is not appliqued. It was a border print that I cut triangles from and then pieced them to make the center block. The fabrics were actually a very pale tourqouise (sp?) stripe with pink dots and a rose border print, a solid pale green and an overall floral print.
GP, I sent you a pm. Thanks for offering to help out.
This group actually found me. I was having some apron fabric cut at walmart when another customer asked what I was making. We began talking and I found out about the quilting group that she had just joined and that they needed donations. I had been wanting to get involved in something and at first I hesitated but Mary Catherine asked for my name and phone number and gave me hers. She was so friendly and invited me to come and help or donate items. The following Wed. I dropped by and the rest is history. My mother passed away from cancer 11 years ago and this past May I was diagnosed with skin cancer so I felt as if the Lord had sent me this wonderful group of ladies.
