Cute - Cute - Cute, Your Girls a so sweet. They look like all American California Girls!
Where did you find the pattern for the purses? I have two nieces 10 and 11 that would like those for Christmas. Love the sash and patch too.
The blue and white quilt is very nice. I'm going to have to find a pattern and make one. GP posted one that was very nice also.

Really nice quilt! I think it's so cool that your daughter wants to learn to quilt -- I don't know any kids that are interested in sewing!
I have a twelve year old niece that is coming over this weekend. She owes me money, so I am putting her to work cutting squares and strips for scrappy quilts. Maybe she'll get the bug!

I was wondering also if they were twins. The girls are cute, the purses are cute but the quilt is beautiful and your daughter did a great job on hers. My DGD gets in too big a hurry when she is using the sewing machine. Great match on the corners of her quilt.

Y'all are so sweet--so many nice compliments! Now to attempt to get the questions answered (my job involves a lot of teaching so it's hard for me to leave folks with unanswered questions!). Family insisted on reading all your responses over my shoulder and putting their two cents in! Typical...!
Loretta and Rita, the girls aren't twins, unless you have heard the term "Irish" twins--! They are 19 months apart. Much to her horror, the eldest (on the left) is SHORTER than her sister. Poor Emma! This has been status quo for about the last two years. Will be interesting to see what their adult heights are; I think they will both wind up being taller than I am, but doubt they will reach 6 feet (their dad's height).
WeSig, DH says to tell you he is already "loading the rock salt in the shotgun". I am hoping he will let them date at least before they turn 40--LOL! I pity the boys and men in their futures.
Littlebit, I did help Claire pin-match the corners, but that was all. She did all the cutting and stitching on her own, with a little directing, but she seems to really have a knack for using the sewing machine. She picked out all the fabrics, too.
Oasis, let me check to see if I bookmarked the sites with directions for the bags...I'll get back to you on this one. They really were fun! The blue quilt was made entirely from my stash. The blocks are the North Star block from QIAD's Underground Railroad book. I love the double stars and kept thinking about encouraging our friend to keep his eyes on the stars (during this rough time in his life). I haven't done many unplanned scrappy projects; it's fun to loosen up and play with different prints and tones...and to use up stash so I can go buy more! I added several borders to make it bigger.
Thanks again for all the nice compliments; I think my girls are cute and wonderful, but I am horribly biased!

I really love the quilt you made for your friend. Great job you did!!!! And so thoughtful. I am sure it will raise his spirits.
Those are the cutest girls with their purses!!! OMG those are too cute. What an excellant idea. Great job on those as well. And your DD's first quilting project looks fantastic. Another quilter has been born~! Great to get her involved at this age. Yep, your DH better have the shotgun loaded and ready real soon. Beautiful kids.
