New Wizard of Oz fabric

Post by Cynluvs2quilt »

I just got my Quiltermaker magazine and there is an advertisement from Quilting Treasures that a new line of Wizard of Oz fabric will be available in December!!!! I am very excited as I have all of the prior retired line of WofOz fabric from 2000. Has anyone seen any of the new line??? I have tried to search and can't find any on their site.

That movie scarred me for life. I still have nightmares of tornados & I'm still afraid of that nasty wicked witch of the west!!

My fear was of the flying monkeys. Has anyone seen the fabric yet?

What fun! When I was a kid, Wizard of Oz only came on tv once a year - just before Christmas. It often happened the same day as the Christmas party at my dad's Moose Lodge. I looked forward to this very special day.
When we got our first VCR, the first movie we recorded was The Wizard of Oz. My then 1st or 2nd grade son LOVED the movie. He would just have to watch it right away after school - and sometimes again in the evening. The older two wanted to strangle him with the VCR tape!! When his first baby was born, one of the gifts we gave him was a DVD of WoO so that he could share his love of it with his new daughter. The older two still cringe when you mention the title of the movie.
I think maybe I need to make my granddaughters dresses out of the new line. teehee

If the weather isn't too bad I will be up there during Thanksgiving! My son is going to be up there with the Navy and we are going up there to see him. So I guess I will just have to stop in the quilt shop!

Thank you for the posting!!

Does anyone have a quilt project in mind for the Wizard of Oz fabric yet? I am new to quilting and would like to make a lap quilt out of the fabric. I have special childhood memories of watching the movie with my grandfather. Any advice is appreciated
