Re: Jo Ann's Fabrics/Keepsake Calicos
Thanks you all...I may try making a small project with Keepsake Calicos at Jo Ann's and see how it works out. I have only been using Moda fabrics but saw their fabric at Jo Ann's and thought it was pretty and they have "tons" of it....and, could use my 40% off coupons on that. You've all been so helpful....

If the bolt has quilters cotton or quilters fabric I will buy it from a discount store for utility quilts but if it says craft cotton or craft fabric I pass it up for quilt making. There are too many clearances and sales for the good stuff at LQS and online shops that makes buying less quality fabrics a waste of money.

That's all I use. I haven't had any bad experiences yet. I have made three queen size quilts, with picture on them.

MDQuilta,
The sale fabric from QIAD is excellent. The best way to get the free shipping is to shop on line with some quilter friends. Surely then you should have enough fabric or whatever to qualify for the free shipping. QIAD quality is just TOO good to pass up!!!

Hi everone,
I work at Jo Ann's and we are trying very hard to stock premium fabric. Sometimes we get a shipment in that does not meet the standards of our quilting department and we send it all back. Keepsake is a popular line and we sell a lot of it, with no complaints from our Quilters.

Thank You Sue for posting about this. For 10 yrs I have bought fabric from the JoAnn's in Okla. City. There is some fabric better than others. I have noticed recently that the quality is greatly improving. With Hancock's closing, it should be great for JoAnn's business. I have a partial bolt of a very very nice cotton (solid color of cream) and it was marked on the bolt as Algadon (sp?) 100% cotton. I tell you this is the nicest fabric and they stopped carrying it 7-8 yrs ago. Another one that was great was marked as Belissmo? It was excellant. Thanks for posting. Keep up the great work.
