You are one brave person! That is a very difficult pattern. Turned out beautiful.

Did you piece the edges or put the circle on a fabric and then stitch it on? I tried one of these circles (not quite as intricate) and just couldn't get the edges/corner pieces to go together. If I ever do it again, I'll just lay it on a piece of fabric and hand stitch it on.

Excellent Job Iowagal! This would be a good pattern for Mr. Iowagal to try with his stained glass. Maybe in water glass with bevels. Bet it would sell well too.

Golly, IowaGal, you are sure on a roll!!! That is beautiful. That's your 1st paper piecing and it's fabulous. I haven't tried it yet but you are an inspiration - not for that hard of a pattern but just to try paper piecing.

WOW Iowagal

That is awesome!!! I don't think I'd even dare trying anything like that. I'm lucky I can make a 1/2 way decent triangle. It's so beautiful!

WOW, you did a magnificient job.. I would be afraid to even try it.. I did do a little one of tulips, just a small wall hanging.. and plan on doing another 6 inch block of a white dove on blue back ground. But that is all my speed.. I would really be afraid to try something like you did.. Maybe if I did enough of small ones and live long enough I might just try it... lol. Beautiful, and I give you lots of credit for the fine job you did.

WOW....How can there be two such talented people in one household. That just isn't fair. That is a gorgeous block. Where did you find the pattern? Paper piecing is wonderful for getting those pointy points. Hard to believe that is your very first paper piecing. You did good girl!!!!
