OT- Utah Iron county fair

Post by Suellen » Thu Sep 06, 2007 10:52 am

I'm new to the forum. I've been having fun looking at all your pictures. I wanted to share too. This past weekend was the county fair. I had the privilege to judge the (children’s) open goat show and the open chicken show. This blue-ribbon-winning chicken is a white-crested black Polish. She's very tame, and is named Rock and Roll (for obvious reasons).

Walking around the quilts at the fair was very inspiring.

I'm so glad you posted a picture of "Rock and Roll" - what a gorgeous chicken. I'm a big fan of county and state fairs - any county, any state.

WOW I have never seen anything like that. Of course I have only been to a couple of county fairs in my whole life.
Thanks for the picture!

That is some gorgeous chicken and so unusual. Welcome to the forum. I always enjoy going to state fairs and seeing the quilts and the animals the kids have there.

What a beautiful Chicken I had someone ask my dh if I could make a rooster quilt what do you think if I make one that looks like rock and roll. I bet they would be surprised.

OMG my being city raised is sure showing! I've never been to a county or state fair and I've never in my life seen a chicken like that. I thought a chicken was a chicken and could be white or brown. I had no idea. That chicken reminds me of Little Richard for some reason.

What a beauty. To me...James Brown comes to mind, even though I guess it is a female. What ATTITUDE!!!!

Well, now that I see you said it's a girl....maybe Phyllis Diller.

Oh my, you sure she's just not having a bad feather day?

Bev, there is a quilt pattern for what you are talking about. I think it's based on Elvis and I think I saw it on Quilters News Network. I will try to find it for you.
