OH and I also assembly line sew the triangles on. First the patterned ones, press and then the muslin side. So easy and fast!
Good luck everyone. Can't wait to see all the blocks and make a quilt.

Yay! I heard from Nadine this morning and I get to be in the swap.
Quiltwithmom. . . .Thank you for the information this morning. I'm going to QIAD and order my fabric. It kind of sounds (from the posts) that most are using the ecru/cream color for the center and triangles so I will do that also. Thanks for the stripping tip also. I can see where that will be a quicker way and possibly easier to sign while still in the lone strip (we'll see on that one).

Yes I've joined,I'm #38.My back went out and I think it was a good thing it did.I would have done alot of blocks for nothing. I didn't know or I just didn't read it correctly that we are using QID fabric. Now I need to order. Do I get multiple colors or just one plus the muslin, and how much? Please be patient with me,I'll get the hang of it.PROMISE:>

Sewingbee,
This is what was sent to me.
"You will need 2 yards Through the Seasons Autumn/Winter fabric 1 or 2 color ways your choice but a totoal of 2 yards.
2 yds Muslin or Kona Cotton"
Wash fabric first, which I am sure we all do anyway.
My suggestion is that you get a little more yardage for the seasons fabric. 1 1/4 yds. THIS IS MY suggestion only. I haven't heard anyone else complain so you may be fine. You really have to cut carefuly to get them all. I just made it with a tad left over. I did however get two different patterns, a yard of each then 2 yards of the muslin which I purchased localy.
Hope this helps. QIAD is fast service so once you place your order it will come quickly. They are generous with the yardage also.

One other thing that I learned doing the 1st Autograph blocks - when you are adding the triangles and assembly line sewing, try cutting off the tips of the triangles (they need to be trimmed anyway), BEFORE sewing - makes the assembly line go so much quicker having straight ends and not angled ends.

I also "pinched" the centers so I could line them up. Went a lot quicker than trying to "eyeball" it!
