Has anyone made an apple core quilt with very small pieces (approx. 2" or so)? I too was wodering whether hand or machine would be the way to go? I tried both versions yesterday with just a few pieces, and with absolutely no success either way... It seems that such small curved seams are really difficult!

Or, maybe it is just me? I've never hand pieced anything before, so I probably shouldn't be surprised that I didn't get perfectly curved seams :-)

Eajosian, did you ever get around to make an apple core quilt?

2" pieces sound rather small. I did some fish once that were about that size. By hand was the only way to do it and it was still hard. They might have been harder than the apple core, because I was dealing with curves in both directions on each piece.

Thanks Cathy, I take it that you did manage to sew the fishes together anyway...? Did you cut small slits into the seam allowance of the concave curves before sewing the pieces together?
