I just dearly loved reading how you ended up with this stunning quilt. You sure are great with words and so determined with your work. Which is a very good thing. WOW! I wish you lived over here near me. You have quite an eye for fabrics & color. Thank You for taking the time to give us a detailed process you went through in making this quilt. I appreciate it and loved reading about it.

Thank you all so much for listening and commenting! It really means a lot of me to have people to share my hobby with!

FatCatQuilter, well, yes, I really do believe this IS the end result - LOL! Although, I still have to make a quilt label for it, so maybe it isn't the end of the story after all...:-) If you want to research the Moomins, have a look at http://www.moomin.fi/moomin.htm'>http:/ ... moomin.htm. It'll all be in Finnish when you get there, but just click the British flag and you'll get the page in English instead, so you can read about the characters. I don't know if the books are available in the US, but I woudn't be surprised if they are. I know they are all translated to English.

Oasis, my next project will be a "butterfly quilt" for the 2-year old big-sister-to-be of the baby who will receive this quilt.

nanjam62, yes, do it, take out your old UFOs and try to think of other ways to proceed than you originally had planned. It is really fun, and really makes it feel as if you are truly making your own and original quilt!

I love this especially how the border has such movement with your fabric choices. Nice work, lady!

Thanks MastiffMomQlt! I just wished I had been better at following your advice for how to sit when doing free motion quilting, because my neck has certainly reminded me, yesterday and today, that I shouldn't have done all the stippling in one go....:-)
