Hi Evie,
I recently added a Quilt Journal to our website. It even has some plastic pockets in the back to add snips of fabrics. Here is the link to it.

I have one that includes a place for a picture, snips of materials, and where I purchased. I also include who it is for, when I gave, it or the donation for an auction, etc. It is only for me to show my progress and shows my goals. I am not sure if I have ever shared this with others. But,. someday my DD will see them.

Your post has set me thinking and I guess I have a sort of fabric journal without knowing it. If I am trying to match something I past a swatch to a 4x6 card and put it in a small photo album that can be carried with me. I also carry several cards with swatches of my 30's material, My documentaries, my paisley collection, etc.I checked and I have swatches of just everything in my stash. When the photo album is too full I put the excess in a file box and carry only that which I currently need to match. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that I keep the photo album full, because I'm always looking for certain types of fabric.

Kay, you really have got it together my dear! Wish I was that organized. I admire you for being so organized and together. Bet it really helps.

The spring issue ( I think) of Quilts & More had a scrapbook for quilt swatches-you decorate the front as you wish, and it has pages of envelopes to put the swatches in. Let me know if you need more info. The directions are on the website to download.
