OK, so here's what happened when I gave it away: she loved it, and said she didn't want to leave it in the summer house but rather take it back to her place in Stockholm, so I really think she meant it...:-)

And, the most funny thing, in my view, was that I had attached a label on the back with a starfish on it, and when four of us went out in a boat to get (pick?) some clams directly from the ocean, we also found a starfish! I hadn't seen one since I was a kid, so I thought that was such a nice coincidence...

What a gift you have!! I am quiet amazed at your beautiful stitches on your own beautifully designed quilt!! Keep up the good work!! Have you ever thought about designing and getting all the knowledge etc. about quilting and go on to become the quilting "authority " in your country? Sounds like you could have a whole new career just waiting for you!!! Joy

HS-Mary, I am just amazed at your talent! Your stitches look gorgeous to me, I could NOT for the life of me find any of the "boo-boos" you say exist! This quilt is just lovely! I agree with catwoman, I think there's a calling for you in the quilting world. I love your show-n-tell sessions, please keep them coming our way!

By the way, Happy 2-Year Quilting Anniversary to you! I can't wait to see what you've achieved by next years anniversary!!!! You Go Girl!

I can't believe its your 1st time doing free motion!!! It's gorgeous!

It is fantastic. You did a great job on the design and the color selection. It is a 1st prize winner. And your free motion is amazing. What a treasure.

So glad you 'made it appear' here again. I hadn't seen this before. It is so great! I can't believe it is only your third quilt with lots of firsts in it. I've been making quilts for years and never had one this nice. I don't know how to quilt. I tie mine. Once I spent the money and sent one out to have it machine quilted.
Keep up the nice work.

Beautiful work.. I wish I could do that good.. I am too chicken to try, so I just stay with easy patterns. You did a fantastic job. You should feel very proud. I know your friend will love it. Perfect pattern for a summer house on the water front..

Oh, Miss HomespunMary,

I think you are much to critical of yourself (like most of us are). Let me tell you though, most sincerely, your work is very, very wonderful. I can only imagine how amazing your work will be once you are happy with it :)
