What a beautiful quilt. I LOVE it! And I would be very happy if I could do figure 8s like that!! I'm going to show it to my grandson, who has a nautical motif in his bedroom and see if he would like me to TRY to do that!

Well, first of all a HUGE COLLECTIVE THANK YOU to all of you! You are all so kind and generous, and it is so much fun to share pictures here!
SewSew, about practice, I realized this was the only way to get some real practice, so after a class at QuiltUniversity a few weeks ago I decided to just jump in there and practice on a real quilt. Actually, that was one of the reasons I made this improvised quilt top in the first place, to have something real but not necessarily very serious to practice on...
Chidamoyo, well, I'm afraid I do need to hide my quilting, because I don't want people at work to find out what a strange hobby I've taken up... They would start laughing at me rather than listen to my opinions...:~(
Cathy32078, yes, it is a wonderful feeling, and I am particulary happy about having dared to try free motion quilting!
Oasis, no, as far as I know, there are no fairs and no quilt shows or the like around here...
Sharonmamaw and Littlebit, my machine is just a regular home sewing machine, a Husqvarna Viking Platinum 770. It has, since a couple of months ago, been fairly permanently set up on my kitchen table....
Sewbug, yes, I'm so with you! Learning to free motion has been so much more fun than I thought! I loved it! I just want to do some more....

Your work is truly inspiring.
You don't need other quilters near you to show and talk to while ever these ladies and gentlemen are here, but maybe there are others near you who are interested so why not talk about it to friends etc and see. Once they see this beautiful quilt they may want to join in with you and try it for themselves.

I love it! It's so creative! Your placement of color is right on. And a terrific job on the quilting. I wish I could do that.

That is really, really nice. I did not see anything at all wrong with your quilt. I am so happy for you to have completed another project. You did a fine job, now you can start on one of your other projects
). Have fun and happy quilting!
I know I'm no showing my pics now, they are not nearly as nice as yours or anyone elses on here. But hey I love to try and quilt.
Keep up the good work!
