My Red Baskets

This is my Red Baskets quilt, that I also sold to the man that bought my Quilter's Snowflake quilt. He bought this one for his daughter after she fell in love with the other one that he had purchased for his wife. I already had this one made. He said her favorite color was red so that is why he picked this one. I also love red and I had actually made the quilt for my guest room but I decided to let it go. I would love to make another one of these.

I love the look of 2 color quilts. Red and white is my favorite. I used to have a red bedroom when I was little and my aunt gave me a red and white qult made in the 1940's. I still have it.

Thanks for sharing with us!

Fantastic! I shy from baskets-don't like applique, but this one looks great and easy to do!

Very, very nice....and your quilting is very pretty. Do you do your quilting with a longarm or your regular machine?

CoyoteQuilts, the baskets are pieced not appliqued, so you might enjoy making one. They are not a very hard block to do and there are alot of variations to the pattern.

I do not do my own quilting. I have a friend with a longarm and she charges me between $35-$40 a quilt and that includes her providing the batting and doing the binding. The only thing that I buy is the backing. Or she will provide that too, for $4 per yard. So I just send them all to her unless I decide to hand quilt. I know for one that was 110x110 she charged me $50 so I just stick with her.

Beautiful quilt. Man, you'd better hang on to that long armer. You get a good deal. Maybe you should bake her a cake and take it to her when you pick up another finished quilt.
