Thank you, Amie, for posting that "blurb". Everyone is at different skill levels and I for one, always appreciate the time and effort that goes into each and every block.
Deanne - a non-perfect quilter, but always learning. LOL

I just re-read this post and one thing I would like to add is that we all sign up for these swaps voluntarily so remember the excitement you had when you signed up for the swap when you start feeling stressed.

ENJOY YOURSELF!

I've just been reading the comments about people's work. My comment is if we were perfect we'd be God. Some people can pick colors, some can piece perfectly, some can applique beautifully, some can quilt with 12 stitiches to the inch. Good for all of you who can but let's keep in mind that this is a hobby and we all can't be perfect at everything we do. i knew a lady in our guild who loved to quilt but was the worst quilter I had ever seen. People talked about her behind her back but she just kept on and eventually did get better. It all works out in the end.

I had to laugh today while piecing the last row of my french roses swapq uilt. WOW! I love it! But, one of the blocks has poly cotton, is not raw edge appliqued on the leaves and is smaller than all the others. A misfit, lik ethat Christmas show I watch every year. But, it's one of my favorites because someone took a leap of faith, joined a swap and did their best. When surrounded by all the other blocks, it fits right in :o) Just like we do. Amie

What was El's rule someting about if it looked good when you drove by it at 5 mph, then it was good? I seem to remember her saying something like that on one of her shows.

I think we all do our best on the quilts we make! some of us have lots of time others have may 10-15 minutes here and there!
Yes there are some excellent people here that peice, and also quilt.
they are so pleasing to look at and for us underquilters we sit and wish we could just be half that great!

I for one and im sure other people feel this way, I dont post what I make because I dont want some one to tell me how great it is when in their mind they think its really not that great!

So I am satisfied with my work because it is always given to my love ones and I know it will be used and enjoyed no matter what any one may say! and I love doing it so I will continue and hope to get better,by learning from some of the greatest quilters with all their hints on this forum, everyone is so great giving hints and throughly explaing things until we understand! Thanks everyone for being such great quilters and moreso , such great friends!!!

I joined a couple of swaps, my blocks aren't perfect.
I am sending them anway. I have tried, and am satisfied that they are 'good enough', even if the size is off on some of hem by a quarter inch.

majik47, it's not the block itself that counts, it's the love that goes into it while it's being made, that makes it perfect.

One of my brothers sent me a quilt top that our granny had made and never finished. She was the quilter in the family and everybody wanted one of her quilts. She even sold them to raise money for the church. When I looked at the top, I realized that Granny didn't know about the quarter inch rule! Or that seams should be "nested" and that points should match. But, it was still beautiful. I will put batting and backing on it and quilt it and send it back to my brother so that he can enjoy it.

In other words - perfection does not mean beautiful. I'm sure everyone in your swaps will love every block you make.
