WOW...I just went to that website and ordered 4 yards of Minkee. That is a fantastic price. Will be anxious to see what it looks like. I'm not sure if the one 2-yard piece is Minkee. Probably just not the Minkee brand name or something. It was called Moda Snuggle. But I'm sure it will be just fine.

Thanks Sewnsew for the heads up on this great site. Their shipping wasn't even that bad....$5.99 to mail 4 yards of fabric. I've seen much worse.

Correct me if I'm wrong someone....but it's usually about $16 to $18 a yard. The regular price posted on the website was $18 a yard. But it is 60" wide.

I recently paid $15 a yard for smooth brown Minkee which was 60" wide. I used it to back my son's quilt. If you want to see what it looks like quilted, I took a close up of it. It's in the Photo Section under "My Quilts".

I was surprised by how easy it was to work with. I did a generous 1/2" seam when I sewed it together for the backing. I also used 505 basting spray and when I sprayed it, I made sure the seams were finger pressed open. I also used flannel for the batting. I sprayed the backing (wrong side) smoothed the flannel down, sprayed it, then laid the top on and smoothed it down. I still pined it, but not as close as I usually do. It did not shift at all on me while I was quilting it. The 505 did not gum up my machine, either. I had bought some basting spray from Wal-mart, I only used a little bit, it was very gummy, got on my hands and I had a terrible time getting it off. Needless to say, I filed it away in the circular file! But the 505 spray was great. The quilt does not feel the least bit stiff.

You will enjoy the Minkee as backing. It makes for a real snuggly quilt. I've caught my son petting his quilt several times now. (He's 17!) LOL

I think Grammy65 is correct. It goes for $16-18. $9.00 is a great price.

It's so soft and cuddly!

I see where this same website now has a sale going on on Moda fabric going to July 14th.

When I saw where they were located it brought back lots of fond memories. We used to live in Fredericksburg, VA and I absolutely loved it there. Oh how I miss the dogwwod trees. Sure don't have any of them in SD, but I guess we have other beauty. But right now it is all BROWN!!!
