I'd love to have an addition for a quilting studio like Alex Anderson has - she showed it off on one of her shows.... Oh, the natural light and the space! It's beautiful!

Your space looks very cozy and I love the view. Its nice to be able to have an outside view while you are sewing. My sewing room is on the second floor and the only view I get is the neighbors roof or the sky. Maybe in my next life I will have a sewing space on a ground floor with a great view.LOL

THAT LOOKS LIKE A RELAXING AREA TO WORK IN. I LOVED IT.

What a neat idea for a design wall! My back entrance is huge, so I'm going to use that for when I make the larger quilts.

I could have stuck the flannel backed tablecloth in the stairway going upstairs, but I would have needed one of those grabber-thingies to reach my blocks!

I think this is going to work out fine!

I do hate that tan wall color, though... it just saps all the light out of any room!

There is a great lesson to learn in all the crazy places we find to sew in our quest for just a space of our own.....we learn to use what we have and appreciate the time we have to sew and the ability to sew a straight line...then as time goes on and opportunity to move into a bigger space comes along...which may or may not, we find ourselves knowing just how to make our space work efficiently and enjoy making those quilts no matter how much room we have. How efficient you are to use your hallway!!! And yes, the view is good from what I can see. And SewSew, when you can only see the tops of the houses in your neighborhood, pretend you are the "Quiltmaker" sitting high on top of her mountain making quilts for the people in the streets. Any space that is "ours" is cherished. At least you have a window to look out of. I look at a solid wall. To look out a window I would have to be on a platform, and my back would be to the door. I have have had people make me jump out of my skin. I would be sewing, the machine would stop and then they would speak. I got tired of being pulled off the ceiling. For some reason the kids and DH got the giggles when that would happen. Sick humor.

I love the view from your windows.

I just wanted to post this to show you don't need a sewing room/quilting studio to quilt - although it does help! *chuckle*
