Re: Does Anyone do other crafts other than quilting?
I was a florist for 10 years so on ocasion I will still do wedding flowers for people I know. I have one on July 28th. I love to do about anything I love to learn new skills. I do a little scrapbooking although from the amount of stuff I have you would think I do it all the time. I like to make cards. I do some beading, I hook rugs with wool and also do locker hooking with cotton, I'm working on a 5x7 foot rug for the cottage. I'm doing a little red work for a quilt, and also do a little needle punch. Those are the kind of things I can take along with me. The one thing I have not done and have always wanted to to was work with metal cut and weld.
If I didn't have this pesky job I would have more time to learn more things and buy more stuff.

Yes, I also love to crochet, and that's what I do when watching tv in the evening with husband.
I used to embroider but don't do too much of that anymore. Grandkids take up most of my time now.
I have developed a new routine to get my quilting time in, I get up an hour earlier, and also quilt in the evening, an hour or so before going to bed.
I'm finding it harder and harder to do it during daytime hours. The little ones are over a lot and I don't want them getting into my pins, scissors etc. So I keep that room closed when they are over here.
I love them to pieces and enjoy them tremendously, but am looking forward to when they start school, I know that probably sounds horrible..

I have cross stitched ,the printed queen/king quilt size done 5 of those. Make hot pads, clowns, purses, etc. Use to do kids summer type sundresses/with briefs. They grew up.
Like using photos on fabrics. I use to make and enter jams/jellies/cakes/breads in county and state fair. I do have a box of ribbons from that habit. Did tote painting just almost anything to keep me busy. I have almost 60 or more patterns mostly for crafts. Just have a bad habit of seening some and catch them of sale, for 99 cents. So I keep adding them to stack. Also have too many quilting books now but don't want to give any up yet. I think I counted close to 80 or more. I thought I had to have them all. I also have now 19 Eleanor Burns books. I will never get to use all of these things but like |(GP and her FQs) I wanted her books.
My mother did china painting , I tried , she told me that she could not teach me due to been a southpaw had a hard time with brushes. Oh well, can't do it all I guess.
The pink clown in picture for El's birthday was made by me if you needed know what I meant.

I crochet afghans every winter and used to belong to a folk art group for a few years but bad eyesight got the better of me. I'm about half way through an afghan now and hope to finish it in the next few weeks. I'ts the middle of winter here and the frosts are getting heavier so I need to move it along a bit quicker. If I have the time I quilt during the days and crochet at night.
