Nice quilts! Lots of good matching points and fun designs. Make sure you teach your son how to wash the quilt when you are not around....that's alot to invest on the backing, but he likes it and that is what counts. Beautiful work!

Re: My Quilts
Thanks everyone for your kind words.
calicopuzzle, I have a hard enough time getting my son to pick his dirty clothes off the floor! I don't think he's even looked at the washing machine in a long time! I have mentioned though, that quilts have to be taken to the laundromat to use one of those washers without an agitator.
Pilot2b, it only took a week to do the owl. I used a June Taylor ruler which enables you to cut a zillion little pieces at once. Which I did! Plus, you sit there and decide which square goes where, like a game, then iron them down on the fusible, then flip it over and sew 1/4" from the marked lines on the gridded fusible. I used clean used dryer sheets for the strip piecing for the border. It was difficult to machine quilt this, the needle had a lot to go through!

They look wonerful. I looked at the practice blocks quilt...what did you need to practice for? They are great works. Have fun.
