Wow, he's cute! Can't help you with the breed though, I'm a city girl who can barley tell a goat from a sheep :-)

ROFL - I thought the same as Cathy - that we had another male quilter posting. Earl is such a cute goat and he looks well cared for. I didn't know there was different breeds of goats - I thought a goat was a goat. I'm a city girl. Bet you couldn't tell.

According to my friend who raises goats...Earl is a Boer Goat. But I bet he isnt "boring" at all. LOL...really funnny grammy65. She loves her goats. I like them when they are babies. When we have bum lambs she takes them and feeds them goat's milk and they do great.

OK...here is probably more information than you want. But my friend (you know, the one who raises goats), said if you get females, a good cross is Nubiens. The Boer is a good meat goat, and the Nubiens are good milk goats, so the babies have the best of both worlds.

I don't know how much you have been around goats, but once you get females, beware in the fall. Those male goats are sooooooo stinky when they are in rut. Earl probably hasn't smelled yet since there are no females around. I have been over to her place during that time, and YIKES...not a good smell.

But you probably already know all this stuff.

Earl is adorable. Beautiful eyes. Have you had him since he was a baby?

I knew immediately who "Earl" was, I've been waiting patiently for his picture!!! And personally, I think Earl is quite a handsome dude! His markings are really pretty! You know, I really like 2 color quilts, so Earl just naturally looks good to me! Thanks for posting his pic!
