Am I always this neat? Did you notice that you can't see all the threads and scraps all over the floor in my photos? lol
I do keep my stash neat so I can find what I want when I want it but for the rest, heavens no. My room is usually a mess when I am working on a project.

Hi TooMuchFabric,
I had my DH cut some masonite into pieces 8" x 12". Masonite can be found at any lumber yard or home center, like Home Depot or Lowes. It is about 1/8" thick and is smooth on both sides.
I fold my yardage in half length wise and wrap it around the masonite board. It is like having a mini-quilt shop. I used to stack my fabrics but always had a hard time finding what I wanted. By having it on a "bolt" I can see all of it at a glance. It also inspires me when I look at it. One word of caution, it must not be in direct sunlight or your fabric will fade. This is the best fabric storage idea I have ever hit on. I tired using some empty bolts, cut in half, from QIAD but they are just too bulky.

So, you don't have a problem with fading as long as it's not in direct sunlight? I love the idea of having it out where I can see it - where I can pretend to be in a quilt shop! teehee DH couldn't complain a bit if I shopped in my studio!
