hawkeye fabric

Post by caffer23 » Sun Jun 24, 2007 6:52 pm

I would like to make my DH a quilt with Iowa Hawkeye fabric. (He was born and raised in Iowa and is a huge Hawkeye fan) I have looked online and am able to find lots of fleece but not 100% cotton. I was thinking I would use the Hawkeye fabric and solid black and gold and make the quilt with the Iowa state block. I have purchased my fabric at my LQS, never online. I know it's probably silly but it makes me a bit nervous to order stuff over the internet. Does anyone have any suggestions of a website they trust?

Thanks!
Cathy

Hi Cathy,
Welcome to our Forum, I am glad you are here and hope you will join in on lots of discussions.

I, like you, was very nervous about purchasing on-line but have found that most websites are now very secure. I buy stuff all the time and from many different websites and have never had a problem. I guess the best advice is to make sure that the companies you order from are solid, well established and trustworthy.

A friend just had me make a quilt for her brother who is a huge Chargers fan (San Diego Football team). She bought the Chargers fabric at the local Wal-Mart. I don't know if Wal-Mart sells fabric on-line, but another suggestion is to check JoAnn's on line for the specific fabric you are looking for. I did a search for Iowa Hawkeye Fabric on Google and found it on this site:

I don't know this company but you can check them out.
Hope you find what you are looking for.

Again, thank you for joining the forum.

Linda,

Thank you for the suggestions. I have really enjoyed reading all the posts on the forum. I am happy to be a part of it. I don't have too many people in my life that are quilters so it is nice to be able to talk to people who love it as much as I do!

I went to the website you listed and the fabric is exactly what I was looking for. And as far as the internet goes I suppose maybe I should start off small until I get comfortable and work my way up to spending the big bucks! lol

Thank you for your help.
Cathy

You can try Ebay also. Go into the fabric section, and type in what you want. I have bought tons of stuff from Ebay and I use PayPal to pay for it. I have never had a problem.

I just checked E-bay, but there was nothing. Sorry.

I can get some cotton fabric for her. Caffer, PM me your address where to send it... I will work on getting it to you this coming week. (Maybe if you make the quilt, the new machine will be ok!)
