Leetec, I received your block and I already have an idea of what I will do for the first round. I hope to get started in a couple of days.

I'm glad the block arrived, Ann, thank you for letting me know. It'll be hard not asking what you're going to do with it, but that's part of the fun! :);

Good morning all. I started my block yesterday evening and have all the applique done. I'm wondering about embellishments, if you are doing them are you doing them now or waiting until you get the whole thing back? I've never done embellishments b/f but mine needs some sparkle or something and just wondered what the best thing to do would be.

Thanks

On the last round robin I added my embellishments before sending it off. Normally I would wait until the top was finished but I wanted the other quilters to see where I was going with my piece. It is really up to you which way you go. If the embellishments do not interfere with anyone elses work, then go for it unless you are afraid that whatever you add might get in the way or be damaged in postage. If this is the case maybe you can ask your group to use a padded envelope for shipping.

I don't know what I used for my applique, but it sucks! It sticks really good, but its gumming up my needle and I can't sew around it for very long. I'll probably have to redo it, w/ a different web. I thought I was using the web, but obviously not, apparently something like heat-n-bond or something, its pretty thick.

Traci, I always use wonder under and have not had any problems with anything gumming up my needle.

I guess I threw away the packaging (obviously or I wouldn't have used it), I've got some wonderunder that I'll use for the faces and El's method for the pumpkins. I'm sort of glad that I messed up, it still looks okay but some of the fabric that I chose, I probably shouldn't have and wasn't completely satisfied with it. But now I can learn from my mistake and get the "right" fabric! So maybe it was subliminal.......
