This is actually a Fons and Porter pattern. I got it out of their book, Quick Quilts from the Heart and it is a combination of applique and piecing. The pattern is for a wall hanging using the 12 blocks with a bow tie block border. I decided to nix the bow tie border and make it a lap quilt instead.
My husband loved the quilt but has not had time to use it since he had to leave at early Sunday morning on a business trip.

Each shirt block is embellished with baby clothes buttons on the collars. I picked out colors for the shirts and then just looked for fabrics that I thought looked good for ties.
