Beautiful work! Did you like London? I ahve been there many times. Lived in England,(Upperheyford Royal AirForce Base) near Oxford, Banbury and Blenheim Palance where Churchill was born and buried. We went to Bleinheim Palace right after his funeral prior to returning state side. DEX and wife have gone to England several times. If I had not paid for some of our daughter's college education, I could have gone. He is quite wealthy, but in order for her to get financila help, she had to ask him. Go figure. He has three grown daughters, all but one still in college. Guess who financed their ed. How nice.
I thought a great deal Winston Churchill and read just about everything that has been written about him. If you ever get the chance, anyof you, his mother's bio is really interesting.
Got caught in a downpour on the palace grounds...they are lovely and vast.
Once again....lovely quilts. Thanks!

Pilot2B- Yes, we loved London! I'd go back in a heartbeat! My family is English, I'm related to the English poet Sir Robert Herrick, I understand there is a chapel in Northern England that is named after him. We were in London for the queen Mum's last birthday. We got soaked just after our Palace tour, on our way to Ye Old Chishire Cheese for dinner. Fabulous pub, has served royality and diplomates, statesmen, celebrities for hunderds of years. And the food is great, too.
gardenquilter, Thank you for the compliments. I have a Bernina 180 and I love it!
Actually, thank you all for the compliments. You all do great work so it's nice to get praise from you all.

Leetec: One of my ancesters was from England also. He came over on the Mayflower. When my brother, who lives here also, e-mailed me this info, I was so excited. Also so glad you got to see the Queen Mum. I always had the deepest respect for her, as Queen and as Queen Mom. What a wonderful gracious lady.
Helen The ancestor was Thomas White...my maiden name. My dad's father was James Theopoulous (sp?) White. Don't know where middle name came from, he was a gentleman from NC, and lived in Sioux City, Iowa. Wore 3 piece suits all of his life.....except to play golf. He wore the nickers and plaid socks. Very stricking Southern gentleman. And a lovely person. He died when I was 4 and he in his late 70's.
