fair season and quilts

fair season is right around the corner how many of you will be enteringy quilts this year

Not me. I live in an area where women grew up hand quilting. I always go to see the quilts and they are beautiful.

Quilt competition is ever too intimidating for me.

I think I may enter something next year. I'm not prepared to enter anything this year. I'll plan ahead.

I've been quilting about 5 years and always enter smaller quilted items at our county fair - wall hangings, jackets, pillows, etc. I've done very well with those - lots of blue ribbons - but this year I made my first queen size quilt and will be entering their very tough quilt competition. I'm not expecting to win anything but just wanted to make a quilt I felt was good enough to enter.

One year I did win a second place ribbon at the Ohio State Fair for a quilted jacket, but their large quilts are spectacular - I'd never attempt to compete with them.
