Pattern for brave souls- 4 sections, each include a 1/2 square triangle, square of same size & rectangle of size of 1/2 square & square together. I did the 1/2 square triangle by El's 'rules'. then there is a border around the block. The border was suppose to be 2" finished, but to square up the blocks I needed to cut them down to 1 1/2'. Start with the size of 1/2 square triangles you want then build from there. If you can tell by this pic, there is 'opposites'. You can get 4 blocks out of a fat quarter if you cut right. To make the opposites you need to sew the same fabric together--ie: mostly white square to mostly white side of 1/2 square triangle. The rectangle & border has to be the mostly dark fabric on this one. Do the opposite on the same two fabrics. I was going to put a sashing between the blocks, but after getting them together it looked better without. I just bought a package of B&W fat quarters (which I never do) and put this together. This will be one of the quilts I put on my site for sale (when I finally get it done). Thanks for the votes of confidence! Sharon

Very nice. I like the black and white. I have a lot of those fabrics. Maybe I'll try that color combo.

Wow, what a pretty quilt, CoyoteQuilts. Whoda thunk black and white could be so striking. Good job.
