Dear SHARONMAMAW,
Bless your son's heart. Let him know that we are supportive of our soldiers and pray for them. I am happy to know he is coming home in JUly, I know you can hardly wait!

Hi Sharonmamaw...how great your son is coming home for a visit in July. I'm sure you are looking forward to wrapping your arms around him. My oldest was in Afghanistan and I know how good it was to have him back home. We all support and pray for our guys over there...no matter what the politics.
When John went to Afghanistan I wanted to make something for him. Didn't really want to make a quilt. So came up with a little thing he could carry in one of the pockets of his fatigues (guess they don't call them fatigues anymore). Anyway this is what I came up with...
This was on one side...John's wife and kids

and this was on the other side....John and his brother and my husband amd me. Thank goodness I got rid of the red hair. Wasn't a good thing on me. Ha.

I think the best part about the little project was the fact that he could carry it with him all the time. For the pictures I used Printed Treasures fabric sheets. Had a heck of a time finding the BDU (I think that's what they call it). Found some handkerchiefs in one of those stores that sells old military stuff.
