Any suggestions Ruthie...This little quilt is going to London. It's the second one for this family. Here are a couple pictures of the first one. Boy....I tend to make bright baby quilts. I like sending her bright ones. When I was over there and looking for fabric, I don't recall seeing a lot of really bright colors, except for what they my import from the states. All the English fabric I found was very flowery.

Anyway this is the first one. It is a very musical family and I found background fabric with musical notes. Love the Jewel Box pattern.

My little Daisy is pretty special to me. I got her while I was taking care of my mom before she passed away in 2001. I was down in Illinois for 8 months, and once mom went into the nursing home, it was pretty lonely in the house. I stayed there until mom passed away which was a couple of months later. That's when Daisy came into my life. She is also special because she is stone deaf. Didn't realize it until I was completely in love with her and there was no way I was going to give her back. She has also had some auto-immune problems in the last year. Almost lost her, but she bounced back. She has to take Prednizone every other day. What is great about her too is that she is litter trained, so I don't have to put her out in the cold and snow. But she is getting to like going outside. So she does both. I worry about putting her outside here in the summer. We get rattle snakes in our yard, and with her being deaf it is kind of scary. She is always at my feet no matter what room I'm in. But the little dickens gets me up at 5:00am every morning to eat. The Prednizone makes her eat and drink more.

Grammy, what darling quilts. Love the Jewel Box and what you did on the back! I'm just finishing up a Jewel Box myself. Love the pattern.

How about Daisy paws, and send the picture with it. How about Find the Daisy, or Daisy's Trip Across the Pond.

she sounds like an absolute love machine - I know what you mean about being afraid to put her out - we have alot of hawks and owls and when mine were small we stood right over the top of them - we also have snakes and I just shiver -
three weeks ago I walked out on the front porch - my dh grabbed me and pulled me down the stairs when I looked back there was a snake on the SIDE OF MY HOUSE his tail was on the doorbell and his head was on the light fixture - i about had a heart attack - well needless to say dh came to the rescue with the aide of my nextdoor neighbor - you probably heard me screaming where you are - now folks keep teasing me with LAND Shark

grammy, I want to encourage you about Daisy having auto-immune disease. I had an adorable cocker spaniel that had auto-immune back when they had great difficulty diagnosing it, did not know how to treat it, and knew very little about how it even effects dogs. The vets said Dover was their guinea pig with it. A specialist put him on Prednisone in a very high dosage intially, then backed it off a great deal. We only had to "bump up the dosage" periodically when he'd have a "flare-up" that was brought on by different things. Dover lived until two months before his 19th birthday!!! And he did not die from auto-immune. He developed an aggressive cancer in his jaw, and the surgery would not have given him but a couple more months and he'd have been in pain, so I did the "right" thing for my little guy. The vets know a lot more about auto-immune now than they did then. Dover lived a full and happy life, and had auto-immune for 12 years of that time...and he lived almost twice the normal lifespan for his breed! Just wanted to encourage you about this.
