Re: A Little Show & Tell
Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. Isn't this just about the best hobby there ever was. There is always something new to learn. What I love most is that you can give a big part of yourself to someone with a quilt.
I'm so glad QIAD got the site set up so we can share and see everyone's wonderful projects, family and pets...well I guess our pets are actually part of the family...right??
Thanks Andy and Linda.

Quiltcreator...I take it you meana the McKenna Ryan quilts. No, they are done on the machine. You get your picture put on with steam a seam, and then sandwich the quilt. Then you machine applique which is also quilting the piece. I use monofiliment thread and just a plain stitch. It's best if you use batiks as they don't frey so bad. Of course I will never be able to wash the suckers. LOL

Grammy you do beautiful work. My GD is also named Caitlyn, but only 1 N. It is usually not spelled that way and yours is even more unique with the 2 n's. I think that is such a pretty name.

Thanks for showing the 2 blocks - I think I could do that. The quilt for your girlfriend reminds me of Tennessee Waltz - it looks like it has curves but it really doesn't. Again, your work is outstanding.

cindyg...Wish I could remember the name of the pattern, but the blocks are pretty straight foreward. Seems like it was one of those single patterns in a packet.
Barbie Jean...How old is your GD? Mine just turned 8. I got her a little SewFun sewing machine for Christmas. She amazes me with it. No rules or regulations in her head. Just does her thing.
