I used to hide my good Ginghers in between patterns in my drawer - they never knew where they were. I thought we were beyond that, apparently I was wrong. She will be paying for them one way or another. I see some serious weeding being done this week as well as some other jobs around the house being done. There's no TV and no playing with friends until the jobs are done. The quiltling studio is supposed to be off limits to her. grrrrrrrrrrrrr Better go piece and settle my nerves.

My acrylic nails! They are the very best for finger pressing!

Needlenoise, I agree. Been thinking about going back to them again. Too you can guide that fabric right up to the machine needle. IF it goes through the tip (I don't think that would happen) The worst damage would probably be a cracked nail tip.

I have lots and lots of good Fiskar's scissors laying around in my sewing room, in the kitchen drawer, in the desk drawer so why the direct pull to my best expensive sewing scissors? Same with my Clover seam ripper. DH was always using it for something! I bought him two. One for his tool box and one for his tackle box.

My sewing machine, Rowenta Steam Iron, Brass Stiletto, Wooden Iron, Quilting Hoop, Rotary cutter/mat, Kwik Klip tool, plastic pin covers, curved pins, 30's Fabrics, Fat Quarter Packs, Thread Heaven, Zip Loc baggies to store my cut out Quilt pieces, and, my Fishin' Tackle box which holds many of my notions, threads, bobbins, etc....it is great since it has a lot of compartments and a tray in it. It is regular size not the huge large ones. And, I love my Quilting books and Novels.

Well, now that I have the foot controlled presser foot lifter, I can't think of another "new" item that takes the place!!! Wow has this made a difference!!

My sewing machine is in a cabinet that has the knee control instead of using it as a foot control, I can but having the knee control is so nice. The pressure foot lifter using a foot control would be just what I need. I'll have to look into that. Is it for only one brand of machine?

I'm new to this sort of exchange. So far I don't own my favorite things, a Stilleto (I've been using tweezers), a herrin? marker (Ms Burns used it in one of the prgrams this week and finally the safty pin gadget. I want to learn the right way to quilt but it seems it's [taking forever. I founded a non-profit charity foundation (501(c)3]
Victoria's Quilts, handmade quilts for cancer patients, our donations go toward the postage to send the quilts to the patients. So I'm willing to learn but if there are thing that will make the job easier I'm all for it. Deb

Sewbug, it is called the Universal presser foot lifter. This wonderful contraption works with every machine!!! Very well worth it, like driving a car with the accelerator and the brake!!!
