Re: French Braid pattern
Grammy65, I was so impressed with your little braid photo, I have been cutting strips, 1 1/4 by 6 1/2, to play with & try a scrappy one. Will post a pic of my results later. I just love these braids & want to try some in the smaller sizes, for whatever! Thanks for posting your pic too & if make anymore, whatever size, post pics of them too, okay!

The book is French Braid Quilts: 14 Quick Quilts with Dramatic Results by Jane Miller. You can do a Google search and probably find instructions on the general piecing of this pattern. It has several different names.

Re: French Braid pattern
You start by sewing the strips to the starting triangle (makes the square in the middle when two strips are sewn together). You trim the strips and add a long border or sew the strips together. Simple to write but not so simple to do. LOL.

Those of you interested in the French braids, go have a look at all these great variations that I just accidentally stumbled upon when looking for flying geese quilting designs, LOL!

This pattern is so pretty. However I got the pattern free off theinternet but it was a table runner only. Not a quilt. Have made several for gifts. I beleive the web site was www.quiltbus.com

Maria-HSM. . . .What an inspirational website! Guess what I'm going to be doing for the next few days. I hope HappyMrs sees this. Her layout design was very nice made up of the plain braids, imagine what she will do with these design possibilities. Thanks for sharing.

Glad you liked it, Oasis! I thought the "stained glass braid" with two different sized black diamonds in the middle was so cool! As was the flying geese braid!
