I have never tried a 60mm rotary cutter. Never could see the reason for one that big. I use my 45mm all the time. I have the smaller one, but I don't know that I have ever used it unless I couldn't find my 45.

Can you buy the pinking blades and put them in the regular handle or is the pinking blades handle made differently????

Hi Tiggersmom,
Yes, the pinking blades are made to fit into your rotary cutter. They are great for pinking the edges of fabrics. If you wash new fabrics before starting a quilt, if you zip the cut edge with a pinking blade, you won't have all the bothersome strings on your fabric.

The first quilt class I ever took was Trip Around the World with my mother in law. The class was based on El's book but the instructions were bootlegged off of it. I still cringe that I participated in something that was really a rip off against El. Anyway, I digress.
When we took the class, my mil had cut every one of her strips with scissors. She had never heard of a rotary cutter and mat. I tell you, shopping for her that Christmas was ever so easy!!!!!!

I use my 45 the most. I started with that in the Fiskars brand but I switched to the Olfa brand because I could more easily use it with either hand. so I took my old F. one to use for cutting paper and one for the pinking blade. I also have a 60 Olfa for cutting multi layers with the acrylic ruler because the hub clears the ruler surface, that applies to when I cut fleece also. Then I have the two smaller rotary cutters Olfa produces, none of mine have the spring type handles though. My Olfa's all have the original thumb control blade covers, which is what I prefer.
