Quilters Dogs
I am just wondering what kind of dogs quilters lean to. I am the property of my English Bulldog, Lydia. She likes to sleep on her own puppy quilt in the sewing room.

Re: Quilters Dogs
I had a dear Old English Bulldog named Maggie when my kids were small. Then I had a beloved cocker spaniel that lived almost to his 19th birthday. Then another darling cocker spaniel who was called away too soon, last August. I still have Daisy, a little "full-figured" beagle-dauchsund mix who is full of personality. She's the greeter at our business and has her own red humpback sofa (I wanted a red sofa for our home and DH said no, so I got one for Daisy! He didn't say SHE couldn't have one!). I've loved all my little 4-legged babies and just wish they had longer lifespans.

The only dog I'd ever have again would be a black lab! They are the best. I'm not much for little dogs! When I retire, I'm getting a black lab and naming her LUCY. Lucy and I are going to hit the road in our Winnebago.
I'm "pet-less" for now because I'm just not home enough to be fair to the pet. But when I can be home.... it's a black lab for me!

When you get in that Winnebago I am planning to see it pulling in my driveway. You are a woman after my own heart. I travel a lot by myself and have a great time. DH goes with sometimes, he is great. We have had trips that all we do is go to quilt shops, hurray for GPS. DH will walk the dog while I am in the shop. Some shops even let her in. Lydia is adorable, she is short and weighs 55lbs. Very compact. Of course her type of face people will either fall in love with her, or run. She keeps my sister-in-law away, boo hoo

My puppy of passion is my basset hound named Daisy Mae McDougal. I had wanted a basset for years and years and finally got her three and a half years ago.
I have a golden retriever named Molly Mistletoe Magee. She is beautiful. She is getting old and won't be around much longer, I am afraid.
I also have a Chorkie (chihuahua/yorkie mix). She is a people magnet. Her name is Jelly Bean. She is jet black and was born on Eater.
Lady Lydia is my dogniece. I hope my newly aquired sisters realize that they have taken on a dogniece that is so ugly she has a pathetic appeal.
Oops, better be careful. I want the toy sewing machine.

Dear Little Sister,
I see that antique toy sewing machine slipping through your fingers, as well as the country girl hanging over my fireplace.
Also, tell people that Jellybean has a bark that would frighten a buffalo.
Say only good things about Lydia. I am holding one of your dark chocolate M&Ms as a hostage.
Your wiser older sister,
Ruthie

Okay, everyone. Lady Lydia is a wonderfully inventive, passionate puppy. She is adorable and certainly is worthy of the silk cushions that have been provided for her constant comfort.
Anyone should feel honored to consider her as a niecedog.
How's that?

Re: Quilters Dogs
I had a Cocker/Hound mix Sandy who loved to lay on the blocks and rearrange them to her liking. She had to be in a picture with a quilt, usually laying on it. Our Lab mix Lad was fun, he like the quilts as much as Sandy did. Now we have an almost 4 y/o Mini Dachshund Sissy, who is following in Sandy's footsteps. I now multi task when I sew because Sissy will let me sew but I also have to play ball with her at the same time. We also have a 10 y/o Shih Tzu Wilbur who alike his predecessor Lad, loves to lay on the quilts, he doesn't rearrange blocks like Sandy once did. Sandy used to lay on the floor by my feet as I sewed, Wilbur will lay on the sewing room floor or on our bed and sleep from there keeping his eyes on me.
