Well good grief, they certainly put your daughter thru enough, the
panel of five is what would have done me in. Everybody on that
panel will have a different opinion of your sweet baby girl !!
The nerve !! Well I'll still keep her in my prayers !
Amazing that they went thru so many applicants.

I meant to ask you about the log cabin you said you were doing,
is it hard to do? My sister made me log cabin placemats and they are
so beautiful I haven't used them on the table yet. I don't want
any food stains on them. She'll yell at me if she finds out I still
haven't used them !!

Rosie is teething and I took a small cold apple out of the refrigerator and rolled it on the floor and she is having
more fun with it than all the other puppy toys I have bought.
It's early Fri. afternoon here and heating up quickly now that
the storm clouds have moved on.

SMT, I used to freeze a whole orange, peeling & all or a whole carrot and give it to our dogs when they would be teething. The orange would have to be given outdoors. Boy, they loved it!

If I can do a log cabin ANYONE can. I am by no means a good sewer but I keep on trying.I finished it yesterday and mailed it off to Hubbys Aunty.
Haven't see Lucy yet but her brother Ben was here a little while ago and she told him she is "quietly confident". She sooo wants the position but doesn't want to build her hopes up, which is understandable.
Ben is off tomorrow up north to Queensland wild pig hunting.He hunts with dogs and a knife which can get a bit hairy at times. All his dogs have body armour to help protect.It may seem barbaric but all the young blokes (and some girls including other daughter) hunt this way around here. I think it's horrible but what do I know.

This morning when I got up the punk had chewed up (not eaten) a piece of licorice that Hubby had left on the table.!!

Kadie, I am praying that Lucy will get the position. It will be a letdown for sure if she doesn't. You will have to let us know soon as she knows something.

LOL That Punk is quite a kitty. LOL Licorice is one candy I will not touch. LOL

That is a great idea with the carrots and oranges ! I'm going to
market tomorrow and will by some. Her tiny teeth are razor sharp.
As long as I keep her chewing on something she is content.
I took her to the Vet. today and she weighs in at 3lb.2ounces.
She is so little I love it. I have had big dogs for years so this
a great new experience.

If Lucy feels confident with how the interview went then that is a
good thing. What kind of work does she do now ?
Over here where I live the men in this area go deer hunting and
do alot of fishing. When you told me how your son goes hunting with
a knife only and the dogs with him, it just made me think that he is
hunting the way men have for hundreds of years. It's in the genes.
We have people that hunt illegaly for bears up here and set traps. One year, on our own property one of my dogs got caught in a bear trap that someone set. We were furious! My husband spent that whole nite looking for "Millie" our big lab mix. And you know who found her? Our little male sheltie dog "Shadow". He saved her !!

Well I will eventually try a log cabin. I have so many different
blocks I want to try out. It just seems like the days are flying
by. Not getting enough time to quilt as much as want to.

So Punk must have enjoyed teething on the licorice and I'm sure it
was good for his tummy. We are going to give 2 of the kittens away
this week. They are going outside quite a bit now, so they are
ready for a new home!

Oh thank you for your prayers for Lucy.They are much appreciated.
As for The Punk he is a lovable little character, not a nasty bone in his body but he does have an Attitude. If he is hungry he will winge and carry on 'til he gets fed, though I make sure he always has kibble available.
He was so tiny when he first turned up that I was feeding him 4 little meals a day to build him up and now he expects 4 BIG meals hence the attitude when he doesn't get them

Well thank God for Shadow coming to Millie's rescue. Do you really have BEARS living near you?? No Thank You !! You can keep them over there right away from me.
The only really dangerous wild animal over here is the wild pig. They have huge tusks and Ben can tell you they do some damage if they get a hold of you. He's only been chewed up once thank goodness but they are so dirty that within 4 hours his hand was badly infected and he had to have a penicillan injection straight away and then a course of antibiotics.
Lucy finished uni last year and started work straight away as an Environmental Planning Officer with our local Shire Council (Maybe similar to your County?);

Another cheap thing for pets while teething is to take a strip of flannel or fleese or cotton I suppose, about 5 or 6 in. X 12-15 in. and make a thick knot. Knot it sev. times. Wet the knotted area and lay it in your freezer. When frozen, take it out and let the pet chew. Rinse well and refreeze. Our Malamutes were chewers anyway and this helped them to NOT chew what they should not have been chewing on. 4 yrs later, the male still has his and will get it out & lick it as if cleaning it from time to time. Best part is no mess and it is calorie free.

I used to keep wet face washers (Don't know what you call them) in the fridge when my children were teething.They would chew on them without hurting their gums.
I'm gunna try Punk on come raw chicken wings tomorrow.
