I wanted to be 'the boss'. The boss of what I had no idea. When we played grocery store I was always the owner, played house and I was always the mother, played church and I was always the pastor. In my teens I wanted to be a very rich man's wife. That never happened. I hated numbers when I was in school and yet I've been a bookkeeper for 28 yrs. I still don't know what I really want to do when I grow up. I guess I'd revert back to wanting to be a very rich man's wife - ha ha ha - I'd have a stash like Georgiapeach's and I'd have a LA and a great big quilting studio for all my stuff!
One time we were playing church and we were going to baptize a (doll) baby. The kids we were playing with were Baptists and we were Lutheran. The Baptist kids thought we should dunk the baby and we thought the baby should be sprinkled. This discussion turned into a brawl and we wound up pulling the baby's head off. OOPS!

You mean I have to grow up? I thought I wanted to work in an office after working in school food service for MANY years. I got my Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and found a job as a Health Information Clerk. I worked that job for five years and then a job opened up as Food and Nutrition Production Supervisor at the same hospital and I took it. To tell the truth I use the degree more in this job than I ever had the opportunity to in Medical Records, and the people are a lot nicer to work with.
I really always wanted to be wife and stay-at-home mom, which I was for 10 years.

I wanted to be an airline stewardess (that's what they were called many moons ago) or work in an office supply store. I was too tall for the first one but I have enough supplies to open a store!

Grow up???? That doesn't sound like much fun at all. I think I'm still a sorority girl at heart and am not sure where the gray hair and wrinkles came from. In my day everyone went to college to have a degree"just in case" and to have fun. It's a different world now.

I wanted to be a forest ranger when I was in junior high school, but in those days it was not acceptable for a woman to be in that field. In 8th grade I tested high in the natural sciences, but the test suggested I be "wife of a forest ranger", "wife of a rancher", "wife of......". The teacher refused to let me write a report on forest ranger. So I set my sights on teacher. But "life experience" got in the way and I was redirected into medicine and became a nurse. Finally, at age 35 I went back to school and got that teaching credential and became an elementary school teacher. Never regretted either choice.
Funny thing was, I did marry the forest ranger!!

omg did that little girl's tooth grow back or is she toothless to this day. You could set up practice now and only charge half what the dentist charges and you could become rich. lol
I wanted to be a professional skater. I also dreamed of being taller.

I wanted to be a nurse until I figured out that I would have to give injections. Then wanted to be a hair dresser. Discovered in school that I have a thing against loose wet hair on my hands. I freak. It is nasty feeling. So I quit.LOL I wanted to be a wife and I have fulfilled that one. LOL

I started out wanting to become a writer. But instead became a domestic engineer. In this job description you are a wife, mother, doctor, nurse, teacher, cook, housekeeper, babysitter, laundress, chauffer and last but not least grandmother.

Stewardess, teacher, dancer (loved to dance to Bobby Goldsboro's "Everyday Housewife"), lawyer (first job was filing for a lawyer - he's now a judge).
