SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Oct 15th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Oct 15, 2020 5:22 am

Good morning!

October is halfway through! Can't believe time. Sometimes it drags and sometimes it flies.

Yesterday I got my UGRR almost finished. It should be a done deal today. We also got a lot of yard cleaned up from the storm the other day. We were ready to power down by 3pm, built a campfire, and relaxed for 1-1/2 hrs. Today will be busy. I hope to finish up the UGRR, though I may not get a border on it yet. Then laundry, Costco/grocery shopping, and a few other errands. DH has an appt for a physical at 0900 so I'll be quilting and laundrying until he comes home. My sister and DBIL will be arriving around 4pm~ish so we'll be ready for them with a couple of margaritas and a homemade pizza around a campfire. I'm not sure they have dates set in stone, but I think they will be here about a week. They will pick up their trailer on Monday so will be staying in ours until then with one overnight at their son's house. He lives near Seattle, an hour from here.

BECCA - I'm sure you are taking it easy! Hope today is a better day for BOTH of you! Yes, the floss works well for hair. I even used it on a small doll once.

JANA - Big doin's in your bedroom today!! I hope you only have one night with the tarp! Yes, 80 through WY is our usual route when going back and forth to CO. 70 to 15 adds way too many miles and way too much elevation, though we've all done it occasionally. WY winds can be a real bear to deal with, especially coming west.

TINA - sorry - wish you'd spoken up earlier. WE sent our rain east to Idaho! Bet those photos are sure cute. How could they not be?!? Husbands seem to lose their enthusiasm for projects about halfway through. Sigh. And here, chickens ARE pets! :P

Well, I already gave away my menu for tonite - homemade pepperoni pizza. And a salad. I can make it earlier in the day and have it ready to pop into the oven tonite.

What's your supper going to be?

Good afternoon!

Been busy this morning - our Handyman, Tim, hurt his knee yesterday, so the door is put off until Monday. Which is fine with Micahael, as he didn't want it left partially installed over a weekend. Everything is moved and ready today, so I am now in the Batt Cave to play. That was, until I went over and taped and mudded the sheetrock on the outside of the Batt Cave Bathroom. This will have wallpaper - my corragated tin looking paper, so no texturing is required. This was the first coat and later Michael will add the tape and the final smoothing. Then I will let it dry and put up the paper.

The kids are all laughing at me - the last time I put a large opening in a wall, Michael came home from work and found I had opened the wall that separated the living room from the family room. We had wanted to do that, but Michael has a very slow streak that drives me nuts at times, so I will jump start projects by getting started myself. This wall had a wind/earthquake brace that I cut, so Michael had to scramble to make sure the house stood. It did, through the big Loma Prieta, 8.1 earthquake, after he fixed the wall. So I want to get the paper on the wall down here, so I jump started that project. He was not pleased, as he had to go back over part of what I did, he didn't like the way I did it, but he fixed it while it was still wet. After 45 years of marriage, I know how to get him to do things. Well, back to the kids laughing - I have behaved and not cut the hole in my bedroom for the new door, yet........ LOL! Bets were being taken to see if I behaved.

Dinner - well, the soup still didn't get made, so that will be tonight as no one will be over and eat all my extra I want to save for future meals. They were all over to help move things last night and then Aaron and the girls showed up. Lila wanted a ice cream cone and always knows that Grandma has the making for one here. So dinner was punted until tonight.

Mary - you went quick on those extra geese. Enjoy your family for the week. Are they going to take a long way home for a shake down cruise?

Well, need to do the last of the Minnie bows and put the embroidery unit away to be able to do the other sewing they need.

Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

The windows are all closed with plastic over them. We do have no plastic on the two sliding glass doors and the front door. It was 85* in the house this afternoon. They have painted the wood white so it looks much fresher. They were able to sand the garage door to bare wood. It is a beautiful door really and will look wonderful when it is all done!

We have some iron railing on the back porch and on two small staircases, each staircase is 3 and 4 steps that also have iron rails. Needless to say they are rusted. We are going to have them powder coated. It will take three or four weeks once the company has them. The company is going to pick them up sometime next week. We will have all the iron rails powder coated white to match the trim on the house. It should look very nice.

Jana - I know you have really worked on your weight loss and I commend you. You gave Chriss some good advice.

Becca - Glad you are heeding the advice and taking it easy.

Maryz - You are a whizz at getting the quilt top altogether! Congratulations! Enjoy your visit with your sister.

Tonight's dinner will be Pasta and Meatsauce. Should be about ready in 10 minutes.

Carol
