My mom got me a new clover mat and cutter from QIAD for Christmas, and she told me to pick out a yard of fabric to go along,so I saw one I liked and she ordered it. Well, I didnt realize it was flannel.I had planned on using it as applique on the border area of a pieced quilt, and I think it will do fine, bnut has anyone tried that? It will be a wall quilt so wont need a lot of washing.

I have never tried to applique with flannel but I did with some other pretty wild fabric so I say go for it.

I'm in Pat Sloan's group also, I love her applique designs! Check out her blog, www.quilterhome.com
Flannel is perfect to applique with, the thickness is easier than regular cotton. Now, what I'm talking about is machine applique using Pat's donut technique and using your machine blanket stitch. It can't be beat! In her Yahoo group there are a few free pattern and her website hes some also. I have all of her books, too. Flannel is great! Amie :o)
