Anyone do ruching?

Post by sewbug » Fri Sep 21, 2007 9:46 am

A guil member was doing a demo of how to make ruching flowers for quilts. I never knew it was easy enough for me to try it. I ordered Anita Shackleford's book and ruching guides today. Here is a site to see what ruching looks like.

yes, I have done it, when I was doing the Baltimore Album Quilt to make flowers to put on it. But it has been a looooong time ago. I don't do much applique anymore. Prefer machine piecing. Marge

Oh, no, Gardenquilter, ruching is easy and ruched flowers can really make a big impact in a quilt or on sweatshirts or wherever. I did some a long time ago.

Thank you for the site address - I will certainly try it one day - like the 3D aspect of the flowers. I guess they are not as difficult as they look, probably can be dome even without that special ruler ...
