Quilterliz's Round Robin Project

Post by SewSew » Wed Jun 13, 2007 3:15 pm

This is Quilterliz's finished round robin project that was returned to her. I told her that I would post a picture for her as soon as she received it.

Center medallion: quilterliz made an Indiana Puzzle block

1st border: lhostelley added plain borders with paper pieced four pointed stars at the corners

2nd border: Evie added a black framing border, a plain border of rust and gold followed by another black framing border

3rd border: sewsew repeated the Indiana Puzzle shape with a 2 piece applique star on each corner and gold four pointed stars along the sides.

Thanks to all of the participants. I opened the box yesterday and showed DS who is 12. His words were- wow that is and awesome quilt. Went to LQS for some blendable thread to do the quilting, then I remembered that I need backing fabric-DUH. The girl in the quilt shop had never done a round robin, so I think I can bring her around.

This is VERY nice. I am so hesitant to join a round robin. I did it ONCE and got the ugliest quilt you ever did see out of it. This makes me want to give it a try again.

What a great quilt. Everyone did a fantastic job using all the right colors and patterns. Hopefully I can do one of these in the fall if you guys do another one. Just can't right now.

Want to make sure I have this right. Four people each make a center medallion. Then everyone adds borders to 3 other quilts? Is that correct?

I like that the colors, patterns and shapes stayed with the same theme. Like Grammy I might be able to do this in the fall. I don't do applique but like paper piecing so it might work.

Great Work Ladies!
Have Fun,
