Good morning It is cold here also. we are at 15. No new snow. I have a grocery order to pick up and a meat order, Then i will spend some time putting up all that food. I vacuum seal the meat in serving size portions and wash all the veggies and fruit . it takes time. After that I will sew a bit...it will be my reward for getting this stuff done. I am thinking of putting a pot roast in the instapot for supper. with carrots and potatoes. we havent had that in a long time. if I dont get to that it might be breakfast for supper/ Depends on how much I feel like cooking as apposed to how much I feel like sewing...we shall see.
I need prayers for my niece,,,She has been put on the transplant list for a liver. She was readmitted tot he hospital last night, ( third time in a month) Her liver failure is severe they said. She is 44 and my brothers only child. I have witnessed the answer of prayers here with this group.
Off to get coffee and head out. hope you all have a fun day,,,,XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Morning
Judi I will keep your niece I'm my prayers.
Yesterday took Joe to see spine doc. He has pain in shoulder and arm that ortho guy says is from narrowing of cervical vertebrae. Spine guy says narrowing not bad enough to cause his pain. So he ordered shots to nerve. If it helps he says then we can think about surgery. If shot doesn't help, then ortho needs to get off their butt and fix shoulder tear.
Today is back to weeding blackberries. Between today and tomorrow I should get it done.
Have a great day.
Flo

Good morning, Everyone,

We are 42* here this morning. Should be a cloudy/sunny day. We are going to have some warmer temps - upper 50's and even one 60* day - coming our way soon. I am getting itchy to get our deck set up for outdoor living, but I know I'm still about 7 weeks to soon.

JUDI - I will be thinking of your niece and sending up a prayer for her. 44 is so young. Can they do a partial transplant from a living person? We had a friend who had severe liver disease. They almost put her on the transplant list, but she did some research, went totally gluten free, and within a year she lost 50# (her DH lost 25!) and the doctors could find no trace of liver disease. That was about 10 yrs ago.

FLO - I hope the doctors can get together on your hubby's spinal problems. Maybe they could have a conference? Or a third opinion? You are busy weeding your blackberries and here - they are a noxious weed and if we don't keep on top of them, they will take over our whole place. I let them have their way in some places on our property so I do get some berries.

LOIS - your streets must be clear if you are going out shopping. That's pretty good after an 18" snowfall. Will this be the last Elf quilt or are their more waiting in the wings?

LORI - I checked out your Brave by Anna Marie. Wow! You must have purchased the kit? Those fabrics seem pretty specific. Appliances! I really dislike appliance shopping. It's almost as bad as car shopping. How long will your kitchen be down? Will it be at all usable? Or will you be forced to eat out several nights?

MARY Q - You really keep busy! Any word on either of your machines? Has it really been 4 years since you moved? What have the kids done so far to your old house as they remodel? How far is Mankato from St. Cloud, approximately? You mentioned Mankato yesterday and St. Cloud the day before. As you know, my grandmother, Sophie, was born in St. Cloud. My great-grandfather worked in the big quarry in Mankato. (I've seen that quarry, too!) And yes, I did mean Irish Chain, not chair. Sometimes my fingers don't know what they are saying! But then as we were 'talking' yesterday, I remembered making one a few years ago and found a picture of it on pg 12 of our photo section. I made a green/white king for my younger sister, Teese. I think if I make one for our bed it should probably be black background to match our cat!

DIANE - what's the news from your scope and from your nephew's appt?

CHRISS - how did your day with Little He-Man go? Did you nap?

LYN - So, are your friends, Jim & Carol, south for the winter or are they just on a trip? We see a LOT of MN plates in our campground when we are in Austin.

JANA - my DBIL, Al, is having dental surgery today and it's the same that you had, I believe. Sounds like it ain't cheap! He's still working so that will help pay for it. He's 88 yrs old.

Yesterday we got our trailer all cleaned and the storage areas organized. Then I put all my new fabrics away, and made a "so far" list for 2026. Lulu was here so I just kept out of her way. I don't know how she can clean the entire house, including our shower (the job I hate the most!), in just 4 hours. But she does - even windows (insides only)!

I'm back walking with Lori Across the Road! And it's great! Today I will either make a pair of pillowcases as a surprise for a friend, or start Drew's Japanese lantern wall hanging. He should be home sometime in late April or May so I have a little time for that. I also want to assess the "Irish" fabrics in my stash. If I decide to make myself an Irish ChaiN, and need to buy more "shamrocky" fabrics, now is probably when they are in the LQS. I probably need to make a grocery list, too. We are out of a few things. Supper is going to be leftover chicken with Dijon sauce. Last night I served it with wide egg noodles. Tonite is going to be mashed potatoes.

Wishing all a lovely day!

Good Morning Girls

Nice sunny day here!! Now if it would just warm up to oh, say 70* or so, that would be perfect! But I think we are long ways off from that!

Lois... Sorry your fish was so terrible. What kind did you get? I do love good fish, tho not a fan of lobster or crab so much. When I go to Sam's I usually grab a big bag of their Talapia! That's one of my favorites--or salmon. When you do laundry, do you find there's always that last load that never makes it out of the dryer? I often forget it, then find myself running from my bedroom to laundry room (other end of the house) to grab something to wear!!

Judi... Oh my gosh, you know I will most definitely add your niece to my prayer list!! 44 is so terribly young to need a liver transplant. Any chance of a family member able to donate a part a Mary suggested? Do you use your instant pot often? Once upon a time, like 100 years ago I had a pressure cooker and used it to can beans, but I cooked a roast in it once and I have to say it was one of the best meals I ever fixed! Not sure I'd use one much now since it's just me, but a roast sounds delicious! Almost bought a small one the other day, but thought I better talk to the bank about a small loan first.

Flo.... SO sorry Joe is going through all this back and forth with doctors... it has to be so frustrating to be in pain and not able to get good answers. Does he have to go through the VA for all this or can he seek out his own Drs. I know the VA has some rules.

Maryz... St. Cloud to Mankato is about 75 miles and depending on the route you take any where from 1:39 to 2:04 to get there. St. Cloud is NW of me, Mankato is SW of me. The kids have completely re-done the lower level of the house, Painted, ripped out walls, all new laminate flooring, completely gutted and re-done the lower bath. Kris did most of the ceramic work in there--and put heat coils in the floor. All new windows in the whole house, new curtains and drapes. New washer/dryer, new stove. They are talking about totally gutting the upstairs and moving walls. My old living room is now their dining room. Lots different and I love it!! Love that pattern for Drew's quilt ... I might have to borrow it sometime as I have a tote box full of gorgeous oriental prints--might even be one or two I bought in Gig Harbor!! (eeks 10 years ago???)

Diane.... In case you stop by .... As I lay me down to sleep last night I couldn't help thinking and praying for Laura and Nick and hoping that all went at the Dr and the Social Worker. Hopefully they will be able to put together a good plan for him. How did your scan go?

Lyn..... Thought of you guys last night too, as you are often in my thoughts and prayers.

Lori.... Appliance shopping? Did you find what you were looking for?

Chriss.... How's our little Elliott! Did you have another best-day-ever day?

Yesterday I finished up all the baby bibs--25 of them from some flannel I picked up at Joann before they closed. They will go along to Bundles of Love when I make more little quilt tops for them. Friend Peggy is coming over for coffee in a little while and to check out my stash of interfacing to make a hat for her great-granddaughter Perri-age 3. Not sure what my afternoon will bring. I cut out some fabric just for the heck of it, another one of my little kits I had set up. I really wish they would call and tell me that my Janome was all good to go... I'd grab Peggy and we'd go pick it up. She likes to ride along on my adventures!

Wishing you a great day and may you all get a little time to sew!

Good morning all y'all!

We're warmer than Maryz this morning! And will be warm this weekend. I have Ethan coming tomorrow for his PE class workout. He'll get rid of the weeds in the tulip patch. I like this pE class, I get stuff done and he gets credit hours. A win win!

Mr G's appointment went well. Because of the stent surgery, the cardiologist wants to wait until May, before we do anything. So we will.

I have a couple of short loads of laundry to do. Then play. My Christmas elves finally took off the lights and stored them away. In the rest of the year, they do windows, so I am calling them for quote. My windows really need help! Just when, spring it rains, summer it rains, fall, what's the use, time to see out is over and winter, the outside water is off, so what to do?

Off I scoot,
Hugs,
Jana

It's a beautiful morning with birds singing and feeding. Minnie and I are sitting on the back porch. I'm in my robe and enjoying my coffee. It's 65, but feels like 71.

Lois, I will try and send some warm weather your way.

Judi, Prayers for your niece. MaryZ's comments about gluten free sounds like something worth trying.

Flo, That's a chore, but I bet the Blackberry crop will be worth it. I hope the shots give Joe relief.

Lori, When we remodeled the Estes Park house winter of 03/04, Garry told people he took me out to dinner every night. They thought that was so nice, until I said, Yep, right outside the door to the slide in camper where I cooked.  As for appliance shopping, Garry wanted all the Bells & Whistles, saying we were only remodeling once. He wanted a hood vent with heat lamps and racks to set food on. I said I'd never use that. Boy, was I wrong. I love it!! Making pancakes when family visits, put them on a plate under the lights as you cook more. I even warm up our plates, in winter, cause there in a cabinet on the outer wall.

MaryZ and MaryQ, Jim and Carol are probably pulling into the Arizona destination today. Truth is, I don't remember where they said they were going, but I hope they have a good time. They will be there for a month before heading back to Minnesota, and they won't be coming this direction. They have stayed at the Lakeway campground, back when it was the old name.

MaryQ, I appreciate your prayers!
If I get the neck pillow figured out, that some quilt ladies at a Baptist church made, I will send you the pattern. It has been the best thing ever. If it's not behind Garry's head, it's to one side to prop up his shoulder or head.

I had some paperwork and medical bills to pay yesterday when I got home. Minnie really wanted to sit outside. So, I plan on porch sitting this afternoon and go through some of the magazines. It's really a small world. Minnie is out of Heartgard and Nexgard, so I called Chewy.com. When I told the man who my Vet in Colorado is, he said, I know Dr Fish quite well, I lived in Blackhawk and took my animals to him and we had lots to talk about since we're both from Texas. The man is back in Texas helping out is elderly parents.

Hope y'all have a good day. Sending up prayers for needs here.
Lyn

Good beautiful morning. We should see 70 or more for the rest of the week. This girl will have her windows open and let the fresh air in. Gosh it will be wonderful.

Yesterday I went with some friends thrifting. I found a couple of tops, which is what I usually buy,I also found a bag of toys at the good will that had a couple of little chubby hand sized airplanes. I haven't opened the bag to see what else was in there but those planes were the find of my day.

Seems this week has been full of stuff. Monday and Tuesday were Elliott days. Had I known they wanted me Tuesday as well as Monday I could have spent the night, but my dog was in the house. Elliott really wore me out. I slept 8 1/2 hours Tuesday night. I am liking that drive more and more.

Yesterday the parents were here. Dad took the tires off of my riding lawn mower, seems I had a flat, he is doing whatever, he will get it back in working order again. While he was here, I believe Judy polished off the rest of the dog treats. Not sure how many were actually in the treat jar but I'm thinking 10? I taped a note on the jar that they are for the dog and not people.

Today is catsup day. Or is it Ketchup? either way things will get done and I have an increasing todo list.

Judi, prayers said for your niece. She is now on my list.

Maryq, my friend Debbie is like your friend Peggy. One of us will say lets go and off we go. It's nice to have a friend who is always ready.

Lori, will you purge and pack, purge and unpack or just pack and unpack. Either way it will be fun to go through all the cupboards, bet you find stuff you wonder about and stuff that you've been looking for.

Lyn, your sitting on the porch with coffee, magazines and Minnie sounds wonderful.

I need to open up the house and get dressed and start moving or nothing will get done. Dinner, I think I will steal Lois's idea of burgers. No onion rings but I will have grilled onions. If I am going to dirty one pan I might as well dirty two.

You girls have a wonderful day, enjoy every minute of it.

Chriss

Maryz, yes, I did buy the kit for the "Brave" pattern. You could do it on any fabric. It's basically a Courthouse Steps on point. The kitchen will not be useable for 3-4 weeks. I betting longer based on past history with construction. I have a full working kitchen up the street where I can cook if need be. We also have a BBQ with a side burner. We'll survive. I only eat out about 2 a month, so that's not an option of me. We'll probably have a lot of sandwiches.

Flo, bummer about Joe's spine and shoulder. I just had my second shot in my shoulder and it's much better.

Judi, I sure hope your niece finds a match and can get the transplant. I hear they have been successful with liver transplants.

Lois, I think Maryz would agree with you about the fish. Actually about any type of fish.

Maryq, we haven't gone looking yet. I had a donation place come by the parents house and pick up some furniture. Maybe this afternoon. I need to take my machine in for service and cleaning too.

Jana, you definitely need clean window to see those beautiful mountains.

Chriss, I have been purging for a few months, and more so as I box things up. I'm in a throw away mood right now. Too much stuff. Sounds like a good buy at the thrift store. I bet that little guy wore you out. Maybe you should hid the dog treats when Judy comes over. Poor Moose isn't getting his treats.

I worked on the other house this morning. I donated some furniture and it was picked up. Nice to have some space cleared out. I still have plenty left though. Don't know what's for dinner.

Have a lovely afternoon and evening.
