Good morning,
We are home from camping. It was a good trip until it wasn't. But Bill is well again and life is back to normal. In that extra day I was able to get a week's worth of cross stitch done on my project. So now I'll be able to whip it out in 1 yr, 51 weeks instead of the projected 2 years!
LOIS - I read someplace another person had the exact same problem you did with the neighbor always parking his car in front of his house. So, he got (borrowed? Bought? Stole?) a 22' trailer and parked it in front the neighbor's house! When the neighbor asked him when he planned to move the trailer, he said when that neighbor moved HIS car. That solved the problem. Now, where can we get you a trailer?....
JUDI - I was invited in to see my parents' farmhouse a year or two after we sold it. The house was a hodgepodge of additions my dad added over the decades all around a big central room with no windows. Kind of like a medallion quilt. And kitchen was built to accommodate my 4'10" mom - counters were 3" lower than standard. It was a unique house for sure! It was interesting to see the changes and improvements the new owners made. When we remodeled our house, all we found was an old WA State Road Map, and building math scrawled on the backs of boards.
LYN - We went to Flat Creek Winery near Marble Falls. Nice restaurant, outdoor patio seating available, beautiful view, vineyards, and dog friendly on the patio. They also had a separate covered outdoor venue in case you want to bring 100 of your besties with you. I would definitely go back there. As for "appetizers", that's what we serve here. My DD builds a whole "charcuterie" board for their supper and when they were here I had to learn how to spell it. "charcuterie" is trending. As is the word "trending".
I'm not even going to try learning how to spell "horse y doovers"! Glad you have your medical all set up. I like seeing NP's. They seem to be right on top of things. It was an NP that caught the blood clot in my leg last month.
LORI - Is the quilt you are working on made is strips with appliqued circles? Will you alternate those strips or did you put circles on the circle-less strips, too?
CHRISS - are you off to see your best little man again today?
JANA - things are lining up at your house! Dishwashers in, truck behaving, storms by design, fabric arrived, laundry done, and supplies organized. It's time to sew, Baby, sew!
MQ - I know you had to go to your neighbor's funeral yesterday. You were missed here!
We arrived home yesterday about 10:30 am. We parked, unloaded, had some lunch, and Bill fell asleep in the recliner. Later he went to pick up mail and an Rx while I built a fire, started laundry, and fed the boys.
Today Bill is taking the car in for a small repair and I think he's getting a loaner. Also, we need to clean the trailer. We have more camping rezzies at the ocean for 3 nights in March 13th and another 3 night trip up on the Strait of Juan de Fuca in April, so we really don't have to go too crazy with the cleaning. We're not that dirty. Yet. And today is LuLu day! She said it's time to start thinking of spring cleaning - closets, etc. She might just be looking for more hours but that's OK with us!
A few weeks ago I ordered a bolt each of white and cream that was on sale for $5.50/yd. They arrived. Put that with what I bought at the Craft Warehouse in Vancouver and I'm set for any quilt that comes my way! I also ordered a pattern from QIAD for a flag wall hanging. It was on sale a few days ago. And I'm starting to feel a green/white Irish Chair bubbling up inside me. After all - in my real life I'm half McDonough. It's time I made that quilt!
I'm not sure what supper will be yet. I think chicken with dijon sauce, mashed potatoes and roasted brussels sprouts.
Wishing all a great day!
