Good morning,

We are 36* with a light rain right now. Weather is going to be bad whether we stay home or go camping - so camping we will go.

CHRISS - little ones decide on the nap issue, I think. Even as a newborn, my son was awake all day long. But he slept all night long from 10 days old. I was OK with that! But then Autumn came along and she's 49 now and still a napper! Amara stopped napping (according to Daddy) about a year ago, though when she was here last October we noticed that about 4:30 she would often fall asleep where ever she was playing. So good luck getting Elliott to take a nap if he doesn't want to. :D

LYN - Sorry to hear Garry had an agitated day and you had to drive all the way back but glad you were able to settle him down. I'm sure your two grands will settle down eventually. I wonder if they will choose CO or TX. Or maybe they will go rogue and go for OK!

JANA - it's always a conundrum in snow whether to drive the back roads, which have more snow but less traffic or the main drag with less snow and more traffic. With 4WD, I think I'd be on the back roads, too. Will they close schools if you get much snow? And yes, definitely fun to watch the Olympics when "one of your own" is competing. Congrats to her for making it there, even if she didn't medal!

MARY Q - you are right - we've been a pretty solid group for many years. I joined in July of 2008 and I think that was about 18 months after the forum was started? And I've met many folks - You, Sharona, Chickie, Jana, Tina, Cindy, Sue, Lyn, Mel, Chriss, Terry (my SIL). I even got to meet Jerry, Don, and Kenn as well as Jana's Ethan, Aaron, and Kate (who were newly engaged at the time). I would love to meet everyone else - maybe one day. Looks like you are in for some pretty cold temps, but my phone says no more snow for you. A huge indoor garage sale?? Oh, I wish I was going with you! I know I could find some irresistables!

LOIS - Nice to have Billy come drive you to dialysis. Good for him to know the routine. Is your DH feeling any better since he started this routine? Is he still doing 2 hour treatments or have they bumped him up to 3 hours yet? It sounds like your new routine is starting to come together for you and the rest of the family.

JUDI - what all did you find yesterday - your Judi Day? Treasures? What kind of fabric are you looking for for Liam's quilt? I Googled "hockey themed fabric" and found several prints. You'd have to piece it, but it's out there.

LORI - how goes the renovations?

Yesterday I got my Dresden plates put together and posted a photo if you'd like to see. I also found fabric in my stash for the backing and got that pieced so it's ready for the LA. Then I had chiropractor appt, we had financial appt, and Bill had dental appt. This morning we will pack the last of stuff like perishable food and the Cheerios. The only sewing I'm taking is my cross-stitch. We'll be off around 10~ish - after the garbage is picked up so we can bring in our can. Tomorrow we're going to visit my BFF who I haven't seen in a few years. She is now in beginning stages of Alz and her family moved her to an assisted living/memory care facility just before Christmas. She still thinks she's going home to her house. I'm hoping she's not looking for a ride! Saturday we're going across the river to Portland to visit another friend, Bob, whose wife, Betsy, had double lung transplant about 13 yrs ago. She passed away 3 yrs ago.

I'll see all y'all down the road! Literally!

Please say prayers for Laura- her only child Nick, 46, has been diagnosed with cancer Tues morn. He was in pain and drove himself with Laura to the ER after all day tests and scan the doctors have found stage 4 cancer in his STOMACH-- LIVER-- AND KIDNEYS. Biopsies are been planned . He thought he just had the flu or stomach virus that came and went. He has no insurance and was worried about the cost They have him getting antibiotics round the clock, they're taking blood every few hours. Today we hope to see the doctors today. He never complained and this has destroyed Laura. They live together and he has been a wonderful son to her. You know that Laura is disabled and constantly in pain. Please help her with your prayers today.
Thank you for all.

Good morning!

It snowed and the other side of the valley got most of the snow. We got a bit and now I'm officially over snow! Did the obligatory driving in it for this winter, so now,, come oo spring! 😀

Not much here. A quiet day of not having to go somewhere. We are still learning this new thermostat. It thinks that it knows better and keeps overriding or skipping when to be on. The app is on my phone, so I can turn the thermostat up, but Mr G wants to see what it does on its own. So I freeze!

Many prayers for all,
Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning Girls

We are definitely back into winter here! I live on a private road (townhouse development) and the city doesn't plow our road or driveways. So we have to wait to get plowed until our plowing crew can come--we are lower on the priority list as they plow hospitals and clinics first! And they only plow if we get 2" or more! I can certainly get out of my driveway at 2", but I'm not going anywhere! Peggy and I were going to go to the garage sale today, but will wait until tomorrow!

Lois....Funny, I was just thinking about Olivia the other day---as I need a haircut very badly and wondered if she would come and give me one! It's going to quite a learning experience--- to cook differently for Bill. I'm so glad you went to the dietician, I bet they gave you great advice and what's the best food plan for Bill. I know certain foods can be really hard on the kidneys. Some Meds too.

Maryz...So glad you are going camping anyway. If you have to stay inside from the rain, you might as well do it while visiting family and friends. Get out the cards or the dominos and have a game night with the kids. Chill the wine and grab the snacks! I so remember Bob and Betsy! Is Bob the one that bought himself an RV and was going to go traveling?

Diane... Oh my gosh!!! I am so so so sorry to hear the news of your nephew, Nick!! Such heart breaking news for him and for Laura. She doesn't live too far from you does she? Without insurance, surely Nick would be eligible for some sort of aid. I think of Laura often, as there is a song that comes on from time to time, I think Christopher Cross sings it... "Laura" They will both be in my prayers every day and in my nighttime prayers as I go to sleep!

Judi....Next time I dust around here I'll probably be thinking "who is it that I am dusting away"?
Did you find any treasures at the thrift stores? Yeh, I sure wish a lot of missing folks would come back. I wonder if the "views" count each time I click on the section as I go back and forth. But there are still a lot of views with very few posts! Lots of lurkers!!

Jana.... How cool to see somebody from your hometown at the Olympics!! Even if she didn't medal.... who cares! What an amazing thing and what a lot of work she did to get there and what a great experience for her!

Lyn.... Do you believe it's been almost 10 years since we met in Houston! Gosh that was fun. Sue K texts me every once in a while to ask me to come back! It is really tempting! I'm afraid if I went this year, I'd have to bring my walker!! My heart so goes out to you these days, I think of you often and include you in my nightly prayers.

Chriss.... Yikes!!! $8000/yr for insurance??? I thought mine was bad at $644/yr. Mine is what they call an H-O-6 plan because it's a townhouse, I technically only insurance the inside. If something happens on the outside, the association covers it. Have you found any more fabric treasures? Somewhere around here I have a book of all FQ patterns if you need one!

Jana.... Gotta love modern technology!! Smart thermostats are great, but I often think of them like a science fiction movie where robots take over the world! Maybe Daniel and come check and see if the programing through your cell phone might be off, or at the thermostat itself. Since I have a dumb thermostat, I set her at 69-70 and don't touch it until it's time to open windows!! Or flip it to AC!

Since our plans have changed and Peg and I decided best to stay off the roads today, I'm debating whether I am in the mood to tackle cleaning out my bedroom closet. It's a nice big walk in closet and hold a small file cabinet of old papers that could probably be shredded. And I know there are several purses and clothing items that could be donated away. Hmmm, I wonder if there's enough coffee left to get me through that project! If not, I can make more. If I fill a box of donation stuff, I can perhaps drop it off when Peg and I go out--or try to---tomorrow! Ok, I'm going IN!!

Have a great day everyone! Lots of prayers all around!

Nice day. What little grass is in Minnie's yard between the house and garage has grown enough that I will have to get the mower out.

Diane, Sending prayers for Nick and Laura, for you and Joe, too.

MaryZ, Enjoy your camping. I hunted back on my photos for when we did that Lotto dresden, but didn't find my photo. I did 2 lighter blue if I remember right. I hope it wasn't the problem.

Jana, I hope your thermostat isn't taking over on auto set. After what the HVAC guy here told me about auto, I do it myself. It works best for me because when we were gone for so many months I just adjusted the temp and left it. If it were on auto it would have cooled the house when we weren't here and cost a bunch.

I joined here Feb.10th, 2008.

Garry was better yesterday, though very tired. He didn't eat all his lunch. I came home and took a nap.

I think the little snot makers have left my head, finally. Laundry will be on the afternoon chores and maybe the lawn mowing. Time to get moving and on the road.

Dust everywhere, Did you ever hear that the Bible says "dust thou art and dust you shall return" ? Well I think all my relatives are living in my house on my woodwork and on my tables.. I hate to dust the furniture it might be some one i know.
I might work on more blocks today since it is very foggy out there and I have no where to go...I did make it to the quilt shop and bought backing for the graduation quilt.
