Good morning,
Yesterday was so nice - blue skies and 50*. Today we are sliding back into winter weather. Somebody must have told Mother Nature that we were planning a camping trip. Please don't tell her that we've also made rezzies for March and April. Shhhh....
JANA - sounds like things are running along like clockwork at your house. Good for Lila on the ironing. I also learned to iron about that age. Daniel is busy cleaning everyone's garages. Wish he's put us on his garage cleaning route!
MARY Q - how are you feeling today? You might just as well sit down with a quilt, a good book, a cup of tea, and a smidge of whiskey and wait it out. Only thing missing would be a purring cat curled up on your lap. You could call Rent-a-Cat....
CHRISS - did you get any airplanes made yesterday? You will love your pull out trays in the kitchen. One year for my birthday present, Bill made trays for one of our lower cabinets. They make life so much easier for me. He also had a bit of a gap, though it showed. So he used a thin sheet of veneer, stained it to match the cabinetry, and glued or nailed it in place. No one can tell and gap is covered.
JUDI - I'm am sorry you've lost your family's party planner. Maybe you could all take turns planning your reunions. You have so many cousins that everyone would probably only have to do it once. Go in age or alphabetical order, or draw names to see who plans the next one. It's such a nice tradition and what better way to honor Kathy than to keep it going.
DIANE - some years ago I also made a chandelier quilt. I think it was called Hanging Gardens.
LOIS - you are right - diet is VERY important for Bill now. This is what frustrates my niece so much about her husband who was on dialysis for 5 years and he finally got a transplant a few years ago - he won't follow his diet and keeps ending up in the ER. She makes good meals for him, but he sneaks stuff he shouldn't have.
Yesterday was laundry/sheets day. And I took stock of things in our trailer. Tomorrow I'll put in clothes and food, but it's only for 4 nights so there's not much to pack. This morning will be busy. Walk at Y, chiropractor, my ultra sound in Tacoma at the hospital, then, as long as we're at the hospital, visit Susie. If she's still there. Talk was she might go home today - or to rehab. So that takes us from 5:30 to about 1:00. At some point, we want to deliver all the meals I've prepared, too.
I started putting another UFO together. I have 9 checkerboard Dresden plate lotto blocks to be appliqued onto 20-1/2" ivory background squares. I got one done and it looks great. But one 'plate' is too big and won't fit on the background square. I'm not sure what to do with that block. I guess I'll think about it and cross that bridge when I come to it. Maybe I'll look back in the lottos and see if it tells me what pattern we used. I hope to get another block done this afternoon. Supper will be whatever leftovers are left over in the fridge. I know I have split pea soup, mashed potatoes, Cambazola cheese, pizza sauce, and chopped onions. What a meal!
Have a marvelous Monday!

Good morning!
Looking to be abusy day here. Matt , Aaron and quite probably Daniel will be in and out today.
Daniel has his projects spread between his house, less than a mile away and my house and Sandee's. He has tools in all three. Sandee's third car garage is extra deep, you almost can fit two cars 8n it, so that's his main playspace . His car shop and welding stuff. He calls his welding stuff, man hot glue. You can fix anything with that,! So he says.
I don't have much planned. No PT today, so I can goof off. Found dinosaur flannel for a receiving blanket.
Judi - so sorry for your loss. It's hard when they are young.
Off to putter around here.
Hugs,
Jana

Sunny, 55° and heading to 80°.
I woke up yesterday more tired than when I went to bed. I called and told the nurse I wasn't going to be there. Coffee didn't even help. Minnie and I went back to bed and I slept over 2 hours. I felt better. My cold is almost gone, just a little drainage and a cough now and then. But, at this point that could also be Cedar Fever. I did get a blanket washed and the rugs from the master bathroom are now clean.
Judi, I'm sorry you lost your cousin. I hope the good memories carry you through this time. Hugs
I will go feed Garry his lunch and spend some time together. I will see if he would like to sit outside for awhile.
Hope y'all have a good day.
Lyn

Good Morning Girls
Well, I think I am going to live after all, the cold that invaded my head seems to be moving out! But it's early, so we shall see what the rest of the day brings.
Maryz... No cat here, but I did have a very nice cozy dog to curl up with yesterday. She has her own blanket on the couch and curls right up by me waiting patiently for her belly rub! She will go home later this afternoon and it will sure seem quiet without her---even tho she rarely talks anyway. Gosh I hope Mother Nature doesn't ruin your plans!! If I remember the checkboard Dresden lotto right, I had won some too. I think you might find the pattern at MSQ.... look under their tutorials. If you can't find it let me know.
Flo... Oh there are so many fun series to watch on Netflix. One of my favorites was "Call the Midwife" It takes place in England in the 50's & 60's. Not sure Joe would like it much but it's a good to watch when he's out of the house. The funnest part is the costumes and hair styles of those day... many that I wore at the time too! Mini Skirts and knee-high boots!
Lois..... Rice in soup? I do that allllll the time! Rice is pretty high in carbs, so I try to watch that, but when I make my "beer cheese soup" I almost always throw a little minute rice in. Sometimes, if I have any on hand, I'll throw in some wild rice. I remember my BFF telling me about the diet her DH has to be on too, and he does like to sneak the No-no's in the cart when they go grocery shopping
Judi..... Oh gosh, I am so sorry I misread your post about your cousin! I thought it said 91. But 61! Is way way too young. Again, I am so sorry for the loss of your dear cousin and friend. Sounds like she will definitely leave a hole in the family. Did she have children?
Jana.... What fun to teach Lila to iron!! I so clearly remember my Mom teaching me to iron. Always iron in the back of the collar first, because if you scorch it, it won't matter because nobody will see it!

This was back in the day of 100% cotton white shirts that my Dad wore to work. Out of the dryer, we'd sprinkler with water and throw in the freezer for a day or two, then thaw and Iron. She loved to iron and I think that is in my DNA too. But in the old days you didn't want a crease in the sleeve and used a ham or arm board thingee. I still have my Auntie's arm board in my closet! With her name on it.... I suppose in case somebody broke into house and stole her arm board?
Chriss..... So, is Dad coming out today? What are his plans for next project? Are you loving your new windows? Did you find fabric for your Airplane blocks? Tomorrow is Elliot day.....what new sounds are you going to teach him tomorrow? Donkey? Horse? Snake? Tiger? Puppy? Kitty?
Lori... How soon before they can start your kitchen?
Lyn... sounds like we are at about the same point in our recovery! I did have to go buy another box of Puffs with Lotion tho, just in case it lasts a little longer than I plan! Hope you get to spend some time with Garry today.
Guess I'll get in gear here, little messes everywhere. Was contemplating washing floors etc, but will wait until tomorrow after Zara is back at her house. Vacuum up all the dog hair then. Might sew a couple aprons today, but we shall see how ambitious I feel!
Wishing you all a Marvelous Monday

Good morning. By the time I get this posted it will be afternoon. It's been a wet soggy side tracking kind of a morning, but I'm on track now and need to get started.
Judy and I started a puzzle yesterday. It's 1,000 pieces and she did well working on the border. I was surprised that she was willing to get going on it. Tomorrow is Elliott day and the parents will be here while I'm there. I'm hoping she works on it some more, but I have my doubts.
Jana, yay for Lila ironing shirts. Marilyn is 22 and has never touched an iron. I laughed when you said you had a helper. My helper is furry and always under my feet.
Maryz, I say take all those dinner ingredients and add chicken broth and call it soup. I love refrigerator pot luck but don't have it here often.
Flo, sounds like you've been busy.
Lois, I think soup is a great idea. It would really warm your tummy.
Judi, my dad hates his hearing aids too, and he never wears them. So he never hears me and either asks me to repeat or he smiles and nods. I find it as frustrating as he does. Although, he can't hear Judy and that is probably why they get along.
Lyn, So glad you feel better. I think it helps to just sleep it off, then when you feel better wash the sick off of the sheets and start fresh.
Maryq, I've been trying to show Elliott that if he stands on my feet and holds my hands we can walk around. I didn't get to play in my sewing room yesterday but when I get done here I will pull my fabric, iron it really good and get started. I don't think you should wash the floors until my dad is done with the shelves, at least that's my plan.
Lori, are you busy picking appliances? I'm sure there are some great presidents day sales ou there. Gas or electric?
Allrighty, that's it for me. No clue what will be for dinner. I have bacon and hamburger thawing but have no idea if it is thawed yet. Time to go play with fabric, I need to pull 8 light and 8 darker than light FQ's so I can make 16 airplanes.
You all have a fabulous day.
Chriss

Chris My Dad wouldnt wear his hearing aids ever and had the tv so loud the neighbors knew what he was watching,,I wear mine but I dont like it . Had them cleaned and checked today and I think they put new batteries in them...I hear better after the cleaning too. Ken is HOH too but he says we just need to speak up he wont go and have his hearing checked.
We are having burgers and fries tonight with my home made buns...they are so good....I have found that most bread recipes will work,I use milk instead of water for a softer crumb. Pat them into flat disks the size you want and let them rise...paint with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 375 for about 15 minutes or till they are nice and golden...I wrap them individually and store them in the freezer taking out how many you need,,,I made slider bun too and have made hot dog buns with the same recipe/xxxooo
Glas all you sick gals are feeling better,,,xxxooo
