Good morning,

I finished the raindrop blocks but I won't be put together I can start maybe Tuesday that's my off day but will see but today I have some cleaning to do.
It's 29⁰ outside I think it will be 40⁰ outside.
Sofar it's been a long winter I'm only hoping the spring will bring a lot of sunshine.
I think steak is on the menu today but I have to see how Bill feels.
I hope everyone has a great day.
Prayers go out to all.
Lois

Good morning to all.
Lois-can you post the raindrop quilt. I think I have a pattern that sounds like yours but with a different name. Chandelier (might be mis-spelled). I like my steak medium rare with onions and mushrooms so what time is dinner?
I'm not sure what the day will hold--coffee first, of course, odds and ends. BUT sewing is number 1 before then. LOL. Trying to get ufo's done but never seem to lessen the pile. Oh well, "tomorrow is another day" Today my mom would be 98 Can't believe the years just flew by (14) but the memories are still here.
Coffee is ready so have a great and peaceful day.

Good morning,
LOIS - You're putting uglies before sewing?? That's messed up! Spring is only 4 weeks and 5 days away! And daylight savings time starts March 8, 3 weeks from today. Things are starting to bud here. So it's coming! And if we're having steak, please make mine well done with horseradish on the side. Yum!
DIANE - UFOs! So how many do you have? I have 2 sets of lotto blocks, 2 sets of Christmas swap blocks, and 2 wall hangings that I have to quilt - Posh Santa and Posh Mrs Santa (Sew Wonderful patterns). So I guess I have 6. And here I thought I was in between projects. Thanks for the inspiration. I think. How are you and your hubby feeling? Today would be my DFIL's 106th birthday. We lost him 36 yrs ago. He was a sweetie. Maybe he is celebrating with your mom. Do you think they can dance in heaven?
LORI - How long do you expect all the renovations to take? It's a lot of upheaval. Is your kitchen going to be usable or will you be forced to eat out in nice restaurants?
JUDI - I'm sorry you lost your beloved cousin. I hope you have some great memories of her. Baseball season is almost here! We have no one to go watch but I hope you do!
LYN - Yep, the Cold Calm did help Bill. I think the trick is taking it as soon as you feel you MAY be coming down with a cold. Anyway, he was fine the next day. My younger sister, Teese, was also married in Estes Park. Outside in a park, I think. I wasn't there. It was May 1 and pretty cold that day I heard.
MARY Q - now you have TWO machines in the shop? Ouch! How is your Elna working? And you have your Featherweight, too, right? And how are you feeling? Sleep is good. Take a few days off to sleep and you'll feel better, I bet.
CHRISS - I'm glad you are adjusting to your new life. It's tough going sometimes, I know, but you are a tough cookie. I think your slide out drawers are a great idea. I love mine!
JANA - I hope Ethan is having fun snow camping. Is he with family or a group? Bill is very methodical, too, when considering things like a furnace thermostat. And he usually has to try two or three, sending back his first tries. So I wish you good luck!
Yesterday I made freezer meals all morning long. My kitchen looked like a bomb went off! But the good news is that as I stocked our friends freezer, I made the same meals for our freezer! Then I finished my cross-stitched label for Amara's dinosaur quilt and got it and the binding on the quilt. I've got a stuffie dinosaur to go with, a dinosaur matching game, and some dinosaur story books. We also got a few unicorn books and a pretty Easter dress from costco with unicorns on the skirt.
Dinner out last night was so fun with this group. Unfortunately, one couple came down sick and decided they better stay home. After dinner we went across the road to a place called the Beer Vault. I tried a chocolate and peanut butter beer. It wasn't nearly as bad as it sounds!
Today I am thinking of putting on a pot of split pea soup - with ham. We'll share this with Susie and Doyle, too. And I checked - they like it. I think we're going to do laundry, sheets, and take stock of what's in the trailer. We leave Thursday for 4 days of camping. I keep clothes in the trailer and after sitting for nearly a year they probably should come out and be washed, too. Maybe my UFO's are going to have to wait another day.
Have a wonderful day!

Good morning it is sunny today and we may hiy 50...I have a grocery order to pick up. and I will bake some hamburger buns today, I freeze them imdividually wrapped so I can take out what I need when ever, I also think I will make flour tortillas . Ken wants breakfast burittos for his work lunch and breakfast, So it will be a destroy the kitchen here too. Im not sure what supper will be but steaks sound good I like mine also medium rare with onions and mushrooms.
Last night I got 4 more blocks prepped for the Jane quillt...I will work on these later after the kitchen stuff,,,still hand stitching away,,,I have the honeycomb quilt still a wip. Each block is embroidered by hand and then they are put together. Im not even close to getting them done but it is always there on the shelf if the mood strikes me, I also have the hexi quilt in progress too...if (lol) i ever run out of things to do. and of course theres the box of yoyos I like to make but have no idea what to do with them...So confession of .the UFOs...
I have not heard if there will be a funeral for my Cousin Kathy,,,I have the quilt that she was supposed to come and get on my chair...so many are opting out of actual funerals...Another family said it was almost $10k just for a one day mem orial service with cremation... I will miss her, She was sort of the glue that planned family get togethers and her latest was in June coming for a cousins reunion..She was the planner and the suggester...... Other family said no to gathering,,,but Kathy always prevailed...Not sure if we will have a gettogether or not this year,
well I need more coffee and get my kitchen duties started, Have a wonderful day and hug your family...XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning. It's going to be a sun shiny day today. It's supposed to be 60* today with rain coming tomorrow and the rest of the week.
Dad and I came across a little hiccup in my cabinet situation. There is a cabinet with doors at the very bottom and an open hole at the top. Well, the cabinet doors are smaller than the hole on top but only by a little bit. I think we will still put the doors on the top because no one will see the difference unless they climb a ladder.
Today I will do a few odd jobs around here. I will pull fabric for my airplane quilt. It's so hard to get anything done with the parents here, but it's good for them. It gives dad a break and gives Judy someone else to ask the same questions to over and over.
Not sure about dinner. Steak with onions and mushrooms sounds really good but I need to use up the cabbage I have and have some chicken apple sausages so that will probably be what I have. Unless I freeze the sausages and go buy a steak. hmmmm, decisions.
You girls have a fab day

Good morning Girls
If it weren't for the piles of snow around here, you would think this is a summer day! Sun so bright! Supposed to get up to 50* something, and I just might open a window or two! I am feeling a little bit better, but not 100% yet. Like Ex used to say for a cold, take the meds, you'll be better in about a week, skip the meds and your cold will last about seven days. I'm now on day 3! The meds I borrowed from Peggy aren't quite doing the trick to alleviate symptoms, so I think I am going to have to run into Walgreens today after I go check on the cat!
Lois.... Hope your cleaning is just a little quick fast project so you can spend the rest of the day goofing off! I used to not ever do chores on Sunday, because I thought even God rested on the 7th day, but when I was working full time, there wasn't a lot of choice. I can only stand a dirty house so long! If I felt better today I'd probably be doing a few chores right along with you. It is getting a little dusty around here! I should vacuum, but I might as well wait until the dog goes home!
Diane... Coffee is always first.... black, straight up plain old regular coffee!! None of that fancy stuff for me! My friend Peggy, not to be confused with across the street Peggy,----one of her sons has a coffee roasting business, so for Christmas she gave me a bag of his roasted beans! I save it for special occasions, like if she is coming for coffee, or if I run out of my Folgers!

Though I may have to cut back as coffee has sure gotten expensive! You do know that UFO's multiply while you are sleeping right?
Maryz... Janome is at one shop, that's an authorized dealer. I have to the Brother to a different shop because the 1st one ISN'T an auth. dealer and may need some parts! I did haul out the Elna and after a little dusting off, she's working like a charm! What a wonderful thing for Doyle and Susie to have ready made meals! I'm sure they are very grateful for all your help while Susie is recuperating. Can't believe that little girl is going to be 3years old already!!!
Judi.... Sorry to hear of your cousin's passing. At 91 she had a good long life and I'm sure you will have many happy memories of her. If I have steak, onions are ok, mushrooms will never happen and it needs horseradish sauce! I love the Horsey sauce at Arby's and now can find it in the bottle, but only at Walmart! A little horsey sauce mixed with catsup is a great dip for chicken fingers. I can picture your kids cleaning out your closet after you have gone... and a big box of yo-yo's falls down and there are Yo Yo's EVERYWHERE!!
Chriss.... I bet it's a little overwhelming to have to Dad and Judy come so often, but you are angel to give Dad a little respite. It's hard being the caregiver 100% of the time. And tho sometimes it might seems inconvenient, you will look back on these days and cherish the memories of having Dad around. I remember staying with my Mom weekends, which took away a lot of my free time when I was working but I cherish those days. I'm sure no matter what your Dad does, your cabinet will look wonderful! I love pull out trays and would love your Dad to come and install at my house!
Lori.... Are you getting a new sink in your kitchen too? You might as well, since you are in the mess anyway! I would have loved an undermount sink, but I guess you can't do with laminate, only the quartz and granite. If I had a fancy house, I maybe would have gone with quartz, but not here. I'm really happy with the sink I did get. Chriss and I have matching sinks!
Lyn.... Did you get to spend some time Garry yesterday for your anniversary?
The kids are on their way home for California. I need to run down to their house to check on the cat before they get home this evening. I'm almost out of my Puffs with Lotion so I'll make a quick dash into Walgreens for some more and grab another option for a cold medicine... Maybe good old Dimetap!
a Good dose of that I should be good to go! I have lots in my brain I want to do today !!
Hope you all have a great Sunday

Good afternoon!
Home, Mr G is fed and my feet are up. Music went well this morning. I am not a fan of conducting a hymn in 6/8 time, like sewing inset seams, but I can do it, and did it this morning. And it was a very long hymn, but now it's over. Whew!
Yesterday I had a helper. I got most of the laundry done and folded and even the ironing. Lila was my helper and wanted me to teach her to iron Grandpa's shirts. She learned very fast. I had 4 shirts to do, and Lila did all of them. Learned to spray the right amount of starch and no wrinkles left. Even how to put a crease in the sleeve. She'll be 8 in April. Was so giggly excited to show Grandpa his shirts. He appreciated those shirts!
Matt is coming tomorrow to fix the thermostat. It will get done quickly. And it will be most likely, a smart thermostat. Grumpy will object, but Matt will exercise his engineer status and get away with it. Engineers know how to argue with a engineer!
Ethan enjoyed his snow campout with the scout troop. Joseph is the current scout master. Matt started and organized this troop for the boys and Joseph is now leading the troop. Both Matt and Joseph are Eagle scouts and know the program well.
Aaron helped Daniel clean up Sandee's garage. Where Daniel works from. They got it done and Daniel's blue jeep, named Teapot, in the garage so Daniel can get it back up and running. It's almost there. Teapot got it name from a whistle it made. In the garage at Sandee's was Becky's refrigerator, that she doesn't need that will now live at Aaron's house. They need more freezer space. So Aaron took it home.
So. I'm off. I have a few dishes to do. One of my dishwashers is acting up, so I'm down to one, and when it breaks, I'll order a new one. The same as what I have. Fisher Paykel dish drawers. Love them!
Hugs,
Jana
