Good morning,

We are going to be at 38⁰ today and that's good we still have a lot of snow around here.

Today will be going to the dialysis center and Bill will start his treatment his Dr will meet us there I called there and asked what type of clothing he should wear and they said if he has button down shirts it would be great so he does have them so I'm happy
The treatments will start out at 2 hrs a day 3 days a week.
I'm also going to speak to the social worker they have a bus that will pick him up at the house and bring him back when he's done.
Sandi is going to show me how to do groceries shopping from home and have it delivered so I will do that especially in bad weather just until we get aculmated with everything.
I know have six rows of blocks finished twelve more to make and I will probably do that over the weekend.
I don't know what is for dinner tonight but I'm sure it will be something maybe some type of breakfast.

Well have a great day please say some prayers for us.
Have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.

Well, rats! My whole post disappeared! I think my nails accidentally hit a wrong key or a combo of keys. I have an appt today for a mani/pedi and they will be cut. Usually I cut them myself, but we're going out tomorrow for our anniversary so I'm treating myself. Toes will just be cut and fingers will just have a sheer polish. Mostly I like to get the cuticles cleaned up.

LOIS - I'm glad to hear your Bill is starting his treatments. And to have a shuttle to/from is great! How far away is the center? And a good idea to do on-line grocery shopping. I've seen lots of pretty sick people in grocery stores and you sure don't want to be touching anything they've touched and taking it home to Bill. God bless!

JANA - happy birthday to you and to Sarah! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚πŸ’ Let there be cake! And I hope Mr. G's tooth isn't a difficult fix. Between the two of you your dentist can now afford that new boat he's been wanting!

LORI - Big doin's at your house this week! What colors are you painting your house? kitchen? anything else? Are you having new cabinets put in or refacing old ones? My kitchen is half and half. This house had a blank wall in the kitchen, probably meant for a really small table/chairs. But I needed cabinet and counter space more so I designed an entire wall of cabinets and had the other cabinets refaced to match. Refacing saved me thousands of dollars and you can't tell they weren't all made at the same time. And I think yes - I just might be glad you mentioned Christmas Bear's Paw. Now I can't get it out of my head. Oh, I'm not sure I'd want to start out across the Mojave in a Tesla or any EV. There's so much nothing! We always make sure we have a full tank of diesel and our emergency tank is also filled.

CHRISS - are the windows all in? Do you love them? We did windows 4 yrs ago. And we love ours except I can't hear the owls or other birds anymore unless I open the windows. Otherwise - beautiful! Quiet, and warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

LYN - so glad you were able to get back to seeing Garry. Great tips to give the instructor about cleaning glasses. Most folks wouldn't think of something so simple.

MARY Q - I love all your quilts! An entire quilt show in one PHOTOS post! They are all beautiful! So tell us more about this retreat. Overnight? Or is it close by so you can go home? A specific project everyone works on or do you just take your own? Is Viv going? Is Kris going? Does Kris quilt at all? I want details, girl!

JUDI - we recycle here, too. But our recycle co doesn't take glass. But they do take food cans if rinsed. We have one big container and everything goes into it and it's picked up every two weeks. Last year we bought two sets of Snapware glass containers at Costco and use those almost exclusively. But I'll never give up my Ziplocks for some things. Though I use them in the sewing room as much as I do in the kitchen. Prayers said for your cousin, Kathy.

FLO - Yum! Split pea soup! My all time favorite! And I have ham to use up . . . . Now to just go buy some peas.

Bill feels like he's coming down with a cold, flu, Covid, pneumonia, or possible a terrible, unknown, life-threatening virus. Looks like I might be in for it. Now where did I put my old nurse's cap ?? . . . . .

I have my cross stitched dinosaur label almost finished. So I'll do that today and then get my label and binding on. After that I'll take a picture and post it. I have chiropractic appt this morning and from there will go straight to my mani/pedi. And maybe stop by the grocery store to pick up some dried peas to make soup . . . Giving serious thought to Lori's Christmas Bears Paw . . . Once I wrap up Dinosaurs I don't have anything on my quilting docket except 3 old lotto/swap sets of blocks and they are used to being on the back burner.

Supper was going to be ham and cheese omelets. But that may change. I'm planning to make several meals for Doyle & Susie's freezer. Most of my freezable recipes are 9x13 pans which are too big for 2 people, so I will freeze half for them and half for us. So, a "cooky" afternoon here today and tomorrow. Susie will be in the hospital at least until Saturday. It's been a rough time for her, though nurse got her up and walking this morning.

Count your blessings!

Overcast and in the 60's.

Lois, Sending prayers.

Jana, Happy Birthday 🎊

MaryZ, As I looked at staff yesterday, none wear glasses that care for Garry. Guess that's why they don't think about them. Very nice of you to cook up some meals.

Chriss, I hope all your windows are in. I have a side window in my bedroom that the seal has broken, so it's streaked. There were brushes against the fence, so the neighbor couldn't see in, but they died. I like the curtains open, but not the neighbor having a view. I'm thinking about putting some kind of plastic that I think is made that the neighbor can't see in, but I will have light and I won't have to look at streaked window.

I was going to trim Garry's beard yesterday but found that a Hospice person had given him a shave before I got there. He had a very red chin, looked like someone popped him one on the chin. They use the cheapest razors made. I'm going to mark a good razor and take it in. He had forgotten that I was reading him Peggy Rowe's book. I only read one story. He was sleepy, so left him napping.

I bought 2 heart balloons and some flowers, I will take in today. A couple months ago I didn't think he would be here for our 23rd Anniversary tomorrow.

I hope y'all have a good day.

Good Morning Girls

You know those snot manufacturers Lyn had at her house? Well they have now taken up residence in my head! And man are they busy! I can't remember the last time I've had a good old-fashioned head cold, so of course I have no medication in the house! Later on I'll need to go check on the cat and I'll see if the kids have any on hand, otherwise I'll make a mad dash into Walgreens on the way home. As I'm sure some of you will attest.... this sucks as I have so many things in my head I want to do today, but my body wants to crawl back into bed.

Lois... Sending lots of prayers for Bill today. I was texting with my BFF last night as her DH has stage 4 Kidney Disease and Myeloma. So I was googling around a bit on both subjects. This is not an easy road ahead for you, so I'll send some extra prayers along. I've done online grocery shopping with just pick up at Target. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy. I think since Covid a lot of stores have that service available.

Maryz... Here's the scoop on the retreat. It's in Prairie du Chein (shane) Wisconsin, which is about 25 miles south of Viv's house. So I will drive down on Thurs, the retreat is Friday and Saturday and is called "Quilt The Day Away" You bring what ever you want to work on, your machine and tools. They provide some ironing stations, some tools, some snacks, and I think a box lunch. 8:00am-5pm. I think there are hotels nearby, but because Viv lives close we'll just drive down and back. IF I get my sister's quilt done in time, I'll take that down and maybe stay an extra day or two so I can help Viv quilt it--or just leave it and let her do it and then pick it up when I go back for the big garage sales the 3rd weekend of May. I need to pick a project to take along--as I have several to choose from!  OH man, I hope Bill isn't getting what I have... you might have to contact the funeral home and make arrangements! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Lyn.... You got married on Valentines too? Seems to be a popular date around here! Easy to remember anyway! If you take a good razor, put it in a safe spot, as it's not uncommon for somethings brought in by families to grow legs and walk off! How is your cold?

Chriss... Windows done? Do you love them? Do they slide or crank?

Gosh, I can't hardly keep my eyes open to type. I think Zara are I are going to spend the day on the couch!! Peggy across the street brought me over some Dayquil, so I'm waiting for that to kick in so I can't hopefully get something done today!! Definitely going to need more coffee!

Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning. The sun is shinning and the fields are green with droplets of glistening dew. It's going to be a wonderful day today.

They installed 12 windows and a sliding glass door yesterday. They were done just after 6pm. This was the same crew that had installed the first 4 windows last year. I'm still not completely sure what I want for curtains. I don't think I want blinds of any kind. I have to say I am enjoying the daylight.

So, while they were installing windows Moose and I were hiding out in the sewing room. I started on my first airplane blocks, problem is I goofed and my fabric is in a different room. So I ironed instead. If I would sew the block properly it would go together easily. Lets see if I can accomplish that this weekend.

The parents will be up today. Dad is still working on that microwave shelf. I plan to do some housework. It's been neglected and needs attention.

Lori, wow, they got started on your job quickly. How fun to have a freshly painted house. What color did you pick? Is your house stucco? Gosh, it's going to be so pretty. Glad you found the Quartzite you love. There are just so many choices, it's overwhelming. Glad you found yours. Will they save you the cutout for the sink? I thought I wanted mine but then wondered what I would do with it. How exciting to be you. A whole new kitchen, I'm curious to see the pictures when you are done.

Lois, so glad Bill gets to start his treatments. How many will he need? You are wise to set up home delivery for groceries, especially in snowy weather.

Maryz, Moose is also having his early morning nap, it will be followed by his mid morning nap and his afternoon nap. I think he's gearing up for his night long nap. I once cooked meals for Richard and pre-packaged them for his freezer, it was after Elliott was born. It was fun to cook a bunch of different things for their freezer.

Lyn, I really don't think people can see in from the street, I only have a neighbor on one side. I'm pretty sure I want light filtering curtains in the windows. When I go to bed it's dark, so I don't need blackout curtains. Jerry also had a red chin from the cheap razor. I took in his rechargeable electric razor and some pre-shave stuff he had. Glad Garry will be there for your anniversary. Will he get a milkshake along with those flowers?

Maryq, My windows all slide. up and down or side to side. So glad to be rid of those metal framed windows. The retreat sounds really fun. Was it a gift to both you and Viv? Sounds like a perfect present. Please don't send that snotty stuff here. I also don't have any cold stuff in the house. I have tylenol and aspirin.

Jana, happy birthday, hope it's a memory filled day.

Dinner will be meat loaf which I will put together and bake after breakfast. I will clean house while it is cooking and do a bit of laundry while I am at it. But first, breakfast and a shower.

You girls have a fab day,
Chriss

Good morning!

Here I sit at the dentist office. Then over to PT. What a way to spend a birthday! Thank you for the birthday wishes.

So not much else here. It's raining, cold enough that it may turn to snow. Roads are too warm for snow to stick, so it's fine to drive.

Chris's- yay for the windows!

Hugs,
Jana

I've had quite a busy morning - 5 appts and errands in 4 hours. I'm pooped. But a quick lunch, quick chat with all y'all and I'll be heading for the kitchen to start cooking freezer meals.

While I was out I got a text from VAL. She asked me to post a note.

"I have been advised to limit my screen time due to my eyes. The blurriness is not going away with the new glasses. Please let everyone know I'm OK. Tony is doing well. So I'm trying to stay off the computer and my phone for a month or two to see if it really improves anything. I will keep you up to date."

She didn't ask, but I don't think she would mind if I suggested maybe a prayer or two for improvement in her eyesight. It's pretty important to a quilter!
