Good morning,

I finally took the time to explore my new phone enough to be able to post pictures again. So I put up pictures of my baby and lotto quilts in PHOTOS. I'm hoping to talk Bill into quilting the baby quilt with his bubble pattern. Baby is due March 19. Gramma is my neighbor and daily walking buddy. And I'm going to get back to walking with her as soon as she gets back from vacation next week. :D

CHRISS - Your stuffed pepper recipe you described sounds kind of good! I know very little about peppers. I think poblanos are ones they use for chili rellenos, aren't they? I love jalapeno's if MOST of the seeds that make them hot are removed. And I know ghost peppers are to be avoided at all costs! But are chilies and peppers the same? Do you know? You are off to play with Mr. E today, so you can't answer my question. Shucks. But have a fab time with your little guy!!

MARY Q - I didn't know you were making your sister a queen quilt. What is the occasion? Just because or something special? And what pattern and color scheme are you using? I once quilted a queen on my old Bernie. May I suggest you don't do that!! The chiropractor made money on that quilt! And we went shopping for a quilting machine the next week. How is your Janome doing?

JANA - nice to see Stu. He is so busy being a grown-up now that I'm thinking you don't get to see him very often. Same way with our boys here. And getting them both together at the same time is nearly impossible.

JUDI - I never used to like football either. In fact, I hated it! But Michael loved it so I'd sit with him when he watched the games and do my cross stitch, embroidery, etc. It was stitching time for me and he enjoyed the game more if I was in the room. I feel kind of guilty that once I learned a little more about it I came to love it. I wish I'd been a fan when he was still alive. Are you still floating on your Phantom high?

LYN - are your sniffles drying up yet? Some people swear taking zinc can shorten a cold by a few days. I was thinking about Layne coming to town. He might be starting a whole new future for himself. Does he have a marketable skill set? There is so much construction going on in/around Austin. And new businesses of all kinds are moving in. Opportunities abound if he looks around.

LOIS - did you get more blocks done yesterday? 8-1/2" is a nice size to work with. How is your hubby feeling?

LORI - I want to ask you if your shoulder is any better, but I can probably answer that myself. Are you able to do much sewing? Maybe for short periods?

VAL - how is the baby stuff coming along?

DIANE - do you still have snow?

Yesterday I did get my baby quilt backing pieced. Now it's in the quilting queue and moved to the top. Bill is nearly finished quilting dinosaur. That might happen today. Then I'll use leftover backing fabric to make the binding.

I'm trying to think of what to make for supper tonite. We had leftover chicken soup last night. I might have to go to the store. Or maybe I'll make pizza. That's sounding kind of good.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

This is the Crosstitch picture I am working on. It is 30,000+ stitches. Mama bear and two cubs walking the bear trail. I loved this picture because it looks so much like where we used to camp in the Olympic mountains. I should be able to whip it out in a couple of years.

Good morning, It is warming up today to around 40...I might have to break out the tank tops. Sun is shining in the room as I type. We stayed in bed til 7 this morning,Ken didnt feel like getting up. But now the house is quiet except for my phone playing the soundtrack from the Phantom. The music of the night,,,,,,,,
I did a little stitching last night after supper. about 12 blocks done, Its coming along. I may have to side line it and work on Liams quilt. It need to be complete by May when he graduates. He has 2 more hockey games and one of them is tonight, so We will attend, then there is playoffs, and the entire hockey team has dyed their hair blonde I mean yellow blond. It horrible but that is what they do for play offs. they did it last year and I hated it then too. ( I was told he may play the spring league about 10 games) We will have Ryker to watch for a few more years if he keeps it up. He keeps saying at 10 that this is his last season,,,but back he comes...
Wel I need to get a fresh cuppa and get stuff going here, I need a trip to t he store... Greek salad and hummus with home made pita bread is on the menu tonight, I think I have it all in my pantry, but I need to check.
Hope you al have a great day,,,and maybe some of this warm (well sort of) weather where it is needed...XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good Morning Girls

OH where did my wonderful sunshine go! Warm again... but ain't not sun shining down on me today!

I don't know about you guys, but I am loving this new server at QIAD. Everything just seems to snap right to it when I click here and there! Thanks again Thomas!

Maryz...Oh yes, making sis Annie a queen quilt! She had asked me a couple years ago and picked out "Sidewalk Chalk" a MSQ pattern. We just never got around to picking out fabric for it. We were chatting one night and I mentioned I might have a jelly roll that works, so I photo'd some options (it only takes one jr. ) turns out I have most of the fabric needed on hand, except for 9 yards of backing! Once my Janome is running tip top again I'll get started. I would like to take it down to Viv when I go in April. Turns out it may be a timing issue, so it's in the shop and could take a couple weeks. I was just wondering the other day if you were back to your daily walks with the neighbor. Is your next Ultra sound scheduled yet? Glad to see you've figured out your new phone to post pictures!! That cross stitch is amazing!!!!

Judi..... Since you mentioned listening to Phantom, I had to ask Alexa if she could play it for me! I think she's playing the version that has Michael Crawford as the Phantom... gosh I love his voice. Love the boys all dying their hair blonde.... it could be worse.... they could be shaving their heads totally bald! Do most of the boys keep their hair short? Do they try to dye it back? Remind them if they do, don't use anything that says ASH on the label (as in "ash brown or ash blonde) it will turn greenish! I don't remember a lot from beauty school, but that I remember!!

Lyn.... Sounds like you (and I) have the good old fashioned head / chest cold! Best you do stay home and have the chicken soup and rest! Oh you should see the stuff in my Amazon Cart!!

Chriss... I had to look up what a Pablano is! I'd never heard of them. Are they hot spicy like jalapenos? I've made stuffed green peppers in my life.. Dex loved them and bragged about how the lady at this little cafe where he grew up made the best ones ever. Well, I tried but was told I never needed to make them again! YEAH I was out of the job!  I did check out that MSQ pattern... When they show pattern done in a certain jelly roll, I often wonder how it will look in another whole different color palette. I think Misty did a tutorial one that pattern recently. Hope you have a great day with Elliot! Can you share a picture so we can see how big he is getting? Would Richard and Gloria be ok with that?

Finally got out of the house yesterday and took my Janome to the shop--as new place a little closer to home. Stopped at Michael's to return something and checked their fabric section---Ugh!!! Nothing to get excited about, a lot of pre-packaged stuff and maybe 40 or so bolts of "walmart" type fabric. I was so hoping they would have some good stuff! Ran into the fabric warehouse to find backing for the baby quilt and noticed they have a LOT of old Joann "Quilter's showcase" fabric---marked up to $14.99, then you pay 1/2 of that. I love white on white, but only found one bolt of Timeless Treasures WOW. I'll pay $7.50/yd for that, but now Quilter's Showcase thin stuff  I actually less than $100 there which is probably a first!

Decided to make another big pot of bean/bacon soup---super nummy and super easy so that will be dinner tonight. Several little projects needing my attention today, so I better get going. I have one more quilt to stitch binding on, and finish another--then all seven will be done and I'll post pictures!

And you won't believe this.... but my coffee is cold. I pour a big travel mug of coffee and add 2 ice cubes so it's drinkable right away... but then it cools down pretty fast after that!

Wishing you all a terrific Tuesday!

Good morning!

I remember seeing Phantom when it came to SF years ago. The only Phantom is Michael Crawford! His voice is perfect for that part. And Sarah Brightman as Christine. Andrew Lloyd Webber was married to Brightman and specifically wrote her musical part in her vocal range, allowing for her voice to reach those high notes. I love singing along the original score and in my younger days could reach those notes. Michael Crawford toured and came to Concord once. The tickets went on sale, right in the middle of church on Mother's Day. I snuck out and got in line at the ticket office. It sold out quickly. I did get to see him! You should see me conduct the score! LOL!

Supposed to snow. I guess I could help it along and get my car washed. It does need a bath.

Fixing a picture frame today. It's a large picture of a caboose out in the desert. Stu knocked it off the wall, a few years back. I put the picture behind the office couch and now Mr G wants it back on the wall, over that couch. He's had the picture longer than we've been married. It lives only in his office! Just one corner needs to be realigned and glued, maybe even a Brad nail too.

Not much else here.

Do something fun!
Hugs,
Jana

Maryz, that is a crazy cross stitch pattern. Lots of color changes in the bottom flower area. The should is a little better, but I had a bad night. It still hurts and can't raise my arms very high. I can sew a bit, but not for a long period of time like I used to. I have quilts that need quilting, but I don't think I can do that right now. I go for a second shot on the 19th. I dread the day we get new phones. I can adapt, but Bill is not phone/computer savoy at all.

Judi, that is funny about the yellow hair blonde hair. Do the other teams do that as well?

Maryq, I was thinking the same thing about the new server. It's so fast. I love it. Pablano sometimes called California chilis. They are not very spicy but they have a lot of flavor. I though Michaels was going to take over Joann's fabric, but I've yet to see it in the store.

Jana, that reminds me I need a new mat for a picture.

I need to run the vacuum today and maybe dust. I also need to figure out what I'll be taking to a retreat next week. I pulled out a kit by Anna Maria called "Brave". I'm going to check out the pattern today. The retreat is in Temecula so we'll be doing a little wine tasting too since we're in the area. Our weather is finally back to normal. Well I best get some breakfast and get my day started.

Have a wonderful day.

Overcast and cooler day.
It was odd this morning, when I opened the dining room curtains, there were no birds. As soon as I sat down with my coffee, they all showed up.

MaryZ, All I can say is WOW, that's a beautiful picture. Knowing you, it will be in a frame next year. As for Layne, he wants to be a diesel mechanic. He and his Dad have worked on cars and trucks.

Apparently my tiny guys theory is already a commercial, my DD's tell me. Just shows I don't watch many commercials.

Judi, Michael Crawford was in Phantom when we saw it in California. Beautiful music. Enjoy the Gkids, wish we had been around more when Kaylyn and Layne were growing up.

MaryQ, I decided to wait on the needle. Your fabric warehouse sounds like a place to get into buying trouble.

Chriss, I hope you are remembering to give Elliott extra hugs from all of us.

I woke up thinking I was feeling better, but once up I'm already tired. I have a bit of a cough, not blowing my nose as much. But, I decided that I better stay home again today. I called and talked to the nurse. She told me that the notes say Garry had a bad night. He was trying to put is legs off the bed and moving his left arm around a lot, seemed very agitated. She said he was doing it when she got there this morning, so she gave him a med and it has calmed him down. I noted to her that they have only told me one other time he has done this and that was when I couldn't visit because of the storm. It hadn't occurred to her that my not visiting may be causing the problem. I begged her to talk to him and make sure he understands why I'm not there.

I hope y'all have a good day.
Lyn

God is amazing in timing. The Hospice Chaplin just called me, she's visiting Garry now and they had told her I was sick. She put her phone on speaker and I talked to him. She said he opened his eyes and responded with nods. I'm so thankful she chose today to visit.
