When we got out of there we went to Dunkin donuts got 2 huge cups of pecan coffee and 2 heart shaped donuts so that was breakfast.
And we had pizza for dinner which tasted really good.

Today after I get everything done I will start July's blocks for owl this is what I call the down time quilt because I can work on this at my leisure.

We a suppose to get some snow today it's suppose to go until tomorrow changing over to rain.

Tonight's dinner will be chicken.
I hope you all had a nice day yesterday and have a great day today.
Prayers go out to all.

Good morning to all.
Hubby had a scope done and the doctor found NO growths at all. So, for now he'll continue with the study.
He'll have treatments in March (3 bcg-1 each week) we know his reaction to them so we know what to expect for a couple of days. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for him. We know that they work.

Have a great day
Diane

Good morning short visit today, on my phone.

Xray shows of course arthritis and a pseudo gout like situation. Nothing much to do but use NSAID and ice. I will see the dr Tuesday.

Free sew both days this weekend. Owl quilt is ready for pick up so will do that and then get the binding made. Also going to make some matching pillow cases. That will take up today. Will see about tomorrow when it comes. I will bring a little something extra just in case.

Maryz yes we will bring the RV to our fishing trip. My son and his wife usually stay in it. My daughter and her husband will also be there for 3 nights. So need extra space. We have been renting a cabin at a reduced rate since we are regular customers but I guess no more.

Nothing else much new. Have a great day everyone

Good morning,

My whole post just disappeared. No fancy tricks could bring it back. Double rats! Starting over.

DIANE - such good news!! I hope your hubby keeps on keeping on!

LOIS - I like a 'down time' project. For me, I guess I call them travel projects because they are the ones I tend to take in the trailer. No pressure - just enjoyment. Your Valentine's breakfast was a tasty spurge. Sue loves her pecan coffee, too. I thought that was more of a southern thing. I don't see it in our stores here. When Sue lived here she ordered it on-line.

VAL - glad you got some answers on your knee. I hope it's no worse than arthritis and gout. I hope you can work out your accommodations for your fishing trip. Carriage House quilt shop is about 35 miles from me, halfway to Seattle and kind of out of the way of any place I go. I've only been there once.

CHRISS - glad you enjoyed the Ag show. I bet it was interesting. Elliott should be close to sitting up soon. And I know you'll be excited about that first grand-tooth, which might be showing up soon, too!

LYN - how was lunch? I thought about doing lunch instead of dinner last night but we compromised and went at 4pm. Good thing. By 4:30 the restaurant was packed.

MARY Q - yay for airline rezzies! Oh, I hope you can go to Talkeetna (2 hrs north of Anchorage). They have a cool quilt shop, though every time I've been there it's different - even in different buildings! And the town is pretty interesting. Funky. But if you choose to go south instead, there is a new shop in Soldotna (3 hrs south of Anchorage) called Quilting on the Beach. Small but nice.

JUDI - I know you are busy being warm and wearing sunglasses!

JANA - I hope your weather behaves for a while now! How much longer does PT go on?

TINA - are you having another dust storm today? Can't believe Jaz is nearly 18. I was thinking she was only 16. Does she graduate this year? I didn't know she was planning to be your next county extension person. Lofty goals! Will you make her a graduation quilt?

LORI - my design wall is my living room carpet for bigger projects. But I also have two pieces of solid foam insulation, covered in flannel They live behind the sewing room door when I'm not using them.

Yesterday I got my hairs cut. When I made the appt she forgot to tell me she moved to a different shop so I had to track her down. Now she's about 1/2 mile from my house instead of a whole mile. Then I made Bill some oatmeal Craisin cookies, remade the trailer bed with clean bedding, and almost have Amara's quilt ready for the LA. Today - finish prepping that quilt, clean trailer bathroom, and maybe gearing up my courage to try my hand at a NY Beauty block. Bill gave me the book for Christmas. All FPP. My supper plan is to reheat last night's Mexican leftovers. But if Bill accidentally eats his for lunch, then I'll make a new plan.

On our way home from dinner last night one of my childhood friends suddenly popped into my mind which was odd because I hadn't seen him or thought of him for years. We grew up on neighboring farms. Lonnie was always a nice boy and was my 'back up plan' for my junior prom date if I hadn't met Mike (DH#1) just in time (I went to an all girls school so proms were tolos). Anyway, this morning I saw a post on FB that my friend died yesterday - just when I was thinking about him! He was only 74. If you have a spare prayer for Lonnie and his family, it would be appreciated.

Enjoy your weekend!

Good morning

Peeking out my window, I see a few snowflakes in the air! I swear we got a couple inches yesterday, but if we don't get at least 2" the plowing company doesn't plow here. I'm sure I can get out of my garage, but it's sure nice to have the snow scraped it all away. My townhouse Association is responsible for the road into our development, so the city doesn't plow here.

Lois... It's probably a good thing that there isn't a Dunkin close to me, or I'd sure be tempted to run up for a coffee and a donut! We do have a Starbucks, so our little town has finally joined the "big League" Kind of nice to have a project you can just kind of play with when you're in the mood and set aside when something else catches your eye. I have several of those!

Diane... Good to see you and good to hear the good news that Joe is doing well!

Valerie.... Seems like once we hit a certain age, old Art, just likes to show up! Thankfully there is Ibu, which I love but can't take. I have discovered Tylenol Arthritis, which is just extended-release Tylenol and it does help some. Have you been able to spend much time with your new machine? My neighbor Connie has a Janome Memory craft machine that's been sitting unused since I moved here, 3 years ago, I'd sure like to take it off her hands!!

Maryz... Yup, I'm glad I made the reservations too, this is probably my last trip up to AK, unless I go up to help them move back next year.. Though I kind of got the impression that Jen didn't need/want me too. I had such fun moving her up there in 2011, but perhaps she didn't see it the same way!  She's not a fan of taking me to quilts shops, tho I did explain they are like a Tourist Attraction to me. We'll see. Isn't that funny how a name from the past can pop up from nowhere. Though I think it must have been like an ESP thing that you thought of him at that moment only to discover that he had passed.

Chriss...If I needed to get into the Dr for something, I could get an appointment easy-peasy, but for the annual thing, it's a little harder. My Dr's staff will call and set up appointments for that. My Dr. is also the Medical Director for a local Assisted living facility, so she's a pretty gal. Nice to know that she likes us geriatric patients! After you get all that stuff in the burn pile, can you really burn it? Are there big rules on burning now out there, or are you out in the country far enough?

Lori.... Felt Right Tiles? Do tell! I have a flannel backed tablecloth pinned to my wall in my sewing room, but fabric doesn't always stay put, tho I do spray with basting spray now and then. I like the idea of tiles or something you can poke into. Wouldn't you know it... I found them on Google!

Tina... If I could figure out where the time goes, I'd sure try to figure out have to get some of it back. Evie wants to have a big party this summer---she turns 18, Brennen turns 21 and Dad (Shawn) turns 50! (which freaks me out more, that I have a son that's 50)

I promised myself I would go get groceries today. From the looks of the traffic cameras, the highway is clear, tho I guess it was pretty dicey last night. Lots of accidents. The interstate highway is about 2 miles from my house, so I hop on that to get to Target. There is a grocery store right in town, but they are WAY more $$ than Target. I'm out of veggies and salad and all the healthy food I need. I have a small pork roast I may go throw in the crock pot before I go. B

But before I go, it's shower day so I'm off to do that and grab some more coffee!

Wishing you all a super Satur

Good morning!

The sun is out. For how long is anybody guess. A few new flakes on the deck.

We have until May sometime for PT. We are twice a week now, but may bump back up to the three times a week. We'll see.. All is set for Tuesday's procedure. Just before 1 pm. They said it would be early, that's not early in my book!

Heading to my Batt Cave for the day. All the kids are busy, so I'll not be disturbed. Mr G has been going through his piles of papers. Glad for that, as he found my missing tax papers. I have control of those now. Tax prep won't be hard either. How much did you make, send it in! Need to check and see what music is for tomorrow. The church just added 15 new hymns for the book. The church is adding new hymns to our hymnal and printing a whole new hymnal in about a year. In the meantime, we get the new ones online. The last time the church did a new hymnal was 1985. That's why I know the hymns so well! Also the church announced the Open House time for the Salt Lake Temple for all to come and see. There will be tours of the entire temple, inside and out. Plan a visit here! The dates are April through October of 2027. Plenty of time to plan ahead. This Temple is the one on Temple Square, built by the pioneers and took them 40 years to build. Then with modern technology, we raised this Temple from its original pioneer foundation and installed special base isolators to make it earthquake safe. Many of you have seen this Temple in person and know it's size and that it is made of solid granite! Quite the engineering feat! The Temple has been under this extensive renovation since 2019. Come see!

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning everyone ๐ŸŒž
Lois, your day yesterday sounds so nice! Enjoy your side project with OWL, mine gets set aside a lot too ๐Ÿ˜บ so it must be my side project too.
Diane, so glad for no growth! ๐Ÿ™
Valerie, glad there's nothing broken. That's a bummer to not get your discount for the cabin anymore.
Maryz, yep more wind and dirt blowing today but the forecast shows today is the last day for a week..... do you think I could hold them to it? Yep Jazmyne loves her mentor's job and she's telling him not to retire before she gets her degree. She's graduating this year with her Highschool diploma and her associates degree from early college, she's supposed to be able to get the degree she wants in 2 years this way. I don't think I'm making her a graduation quilt, she has the most of anyone and doesn't really have room for anymore right now. Sorry about your friend ๐Ÿซ‚
Maryq, LOL Jen not wanting you to help kinda makes me think of Holly, when I go to her house and do things for her she kinda gets a little attitude ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ that teenager comes out in her still, when I was doing her kitchen last time she said "I know, it's my kitchen", I swatted her hiney and told her to sit down ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ it was in good fun.
Jana, I'm glad your tax papers were found..... I'm thinking of trying to tackle mine again to save us money..... we'll see if I can figure out the paperwork for the solar.....
Well I'm not sure what I'm doing yet today..... Frankie wants me to give him a haircut and my floors need attention and so does the dust. I did get the binding on Dad's quilt and got it washed and back to him so that was a checkmark in my favor yesterday.
You all have a great day!
Prayers for all in need ๐Ÿ™
Tina

Good morning beautiful ladies. It's going to be a great day today. Not sure why yet but I think it's a good idea to start a day with a positive outlook.

The storm over the last couple of days claimed one tree and several branches. Thankfully, no damage, just wood. People want wood to heat their homes with, but they want it cut up and delivered. I'm also not real sure about having anyone on my property to cut wood if they don't have insurance unless I knew them well.

Yesterday I made crock pot granola and added some peanut butter, It was better without the peanut butter but it's still good.

Not sure what I will do today, I'd like to clean out more stuff. I really wish the kids had enough space to come get and store their own stuff but while it's a priority for me it isn't for them.

Tina, I love that Jazmyne is a slayer of agronomy and welding! My son did land judging in high school and loved it and he taught welding when he was a high school teacher. Give Jaz a high five for me, I didn't realize she had a mentor job. Yay for her. I think kids who do AG in school do well in life. Others do well also but I have a soft spot for AG.

Lori, I also don't like the wet dog smell. Those tiles sound cool, nice that you can stick a pin in them. Hope they work for you the way you want them to. The only design board advice that I have is to have the felt be a color you don't normally use, the blocks show up better. Mine is grey felt. I'm shopping for rain boots now. Not sure if I want them to come just above the ankle or go to the knees. I also don't like my feet to be wet.

Lois, sounds like you had a wonderful yesterday. Do you make your own pizza? Chicken sounds like a great dinner idea. Even though I told myself numerous times to thaw something out for dinner I failed to do it. ugh.

Diane, glad things are progressing nicely for DH

Valerie, happy open sew day. Hope you find the perfect accommodations for the fishing trip

Maryz, sorry about your friend. Hope Bill chooses pb&j for lunch so you don't have to rethink dinner, but, you could have him take you out.

Maryq, I'm not a pork fan but if you took that pork roast and made chili verde I'd be knocking at your door. Hoping your grocery run is uneventful. I can burn if it's a burn day. I call a number and get a recorded message. Piles can only be brush, not trash. They can be no bigger than 4x4. I have sort of a pit with rocks around it, kind of like a camp fire, and have a water source and shovel when I burn. And it's a ways from my house. Right now is prime burn pile time since the ground is quite wet and green.

Jana, my taxes will be like yours. List the income and send in the money. Next year will be even easier because I will hopefully have less income to list. Last year I withdrew the funds to buy the car from my IRA so have to list that as income. Hope those new hymns are easily learned. I would love to be able to take a temple tour. What made them decide to open it up to the public, I thought no one was allowed inside? or was that a rumor? That would be a great tour. Praying that all goes well on Tuesday.

Judi, it will be nice to get settled and go dip your toes in the sand.

I think it's shower time for me and then I will see what I can get started on here. I'd really like to wipe out the drawers and cupboards in the kitchen. And I do still need to do filters and the dryer vent. Byt the question is, will it get done.?

No clue what dinner will be yet. Guess we will wait and see.

Have a groovy day.

Chriss, I got cream colored tiles. I don't use cream a lot and all the other colors including white will show up great. My rain boots are mid calf. Hope you find some you like. Try DSW. They have good discounts. A positive outlook is good anytime of day. That's my goal too.

Judi, I bet you are ready to have your toes in the sand and the wind in your hair as you listen to the gentle crash of the waves on the shore. Now I want to go to the beach.

Tina, the dreaded taxes. I'll wait a bit to do that.

Jana, I may make a trip to see the temple. I bet it's stunning in person.

Maryq, my design wall now is table cloth material with the flannel back. I want something that looks a little nicer. I think I'm going to like the tiles. They're a design wall/ bulletin board.

Maryz, isn't it strange how you think of someone and then they pop up somewhere. I was going to call my sister the other day and she called me. That happens a lot with us. Sorry about your old friend. What book to you have for Christmas FPP?

Valerie, what is pseudo gout? I've never heard of that.

Diane, that's great news.

Lois, sounds like you had a nice day yesterday. I worked on my November block last night.

Yesterday I did a little cleaning and worked on an OWL block. Got November fused down. I think I'll make the remaining backgrounds so they are ready to fill in with things. I need to head to the farmer's market this morning and I want to get some hand quilting thread. I was doing big stitch with 12 weight, but it's hard to pull though the layers.

Dinner will be chicken and potatoes on the grill since the weather is suppose to be a little nicer today.

Have a lovely day.
Lori 8-)
