26* here, but will be 56* and sunny later this afternoon, so I'll take it!
FLO - I bet your DGD will love your vests! You are such a good gramma. I enlarged a few things for my sister with insets in the side seams. It worked fairly well even though my clothing construction skills are rusty at best.
JANA - sounds like just getting to Mr. G's PT department is PT in itself! Happy new computers! Bill is an HP fan. He uses his for everything. I use mine mostly to chat with my peeps (that's all y'all!) so I don't need much fancy stuff.
JUDI - please don't wait on me to post! I am a very early riser so usually no one has opened the day's thread yet. If not, I open two tabs - one has yesterday's posts which I read and one is new. I go back and forth reading/typing. Then I proof read. Lastly, I check to see if anyone has started the thread in the meantime. If they have, I cut and paste my post. If not, I type in the subject and hit submit. When we double post, it happens in that 10-second interval from checking to submitting. So, you will probably be using your monitor for only one week of your stay in FL? Is it a Holter monitor? Do they still use those?
LORI - how was the quilt show? Are you going back today? Did you find any irresistable goodies? Happy belated birthday to your dad!
MARY Q - I noticed you were AWOL yesterday. I was hoping you hadn't frozen to death! How did your eye appt go? I like a slice of cucumber in a glass of water. Adds a refreshing taste. We have used Glide thread for quilting and it worked well, but since we found Magnifico we haven't looked back. I use Masterpiece for piecing, using mostly neutral colors. About every 18 months we put in an order with Superior Threads. Did you finish your CN?
LYN - isn't Pie Day March 14th (my nephew's birthday and he really loves pie!). Your newsletter is starting the celebration early! Celebrate early, celebrate often is my motto for most good stuff. I bet the little birds were grateful for you running interference with them with that hawk! I will have to check out your Estancia chardonnay. We like Dark Horse buttery chard. Randall's (Safeway) sells it down here. It's more oaky, which we prefer to most modern chardonnays. They also have a "steel tank" variety. In WA, you can buy anything in the grocery stores. No more restrictions.
CHRISS - that sounds like a good hint to remove chicken from the bones. My Bill doesn't like rotisserie chicken and neither of us care for dark meat, so I probably won't be using that chicken hint, but it's still a good one. Glad you finally got started on your First Kiss. Hope there's more sewing time today for you. Hard to believe your little best man is almost 5 months old! Teeth are a good way to celebrate!
TINA - happy birthday to Frankie! For some reason I keep thinking he's in Sept. Are you sure he isn't trying to con you into two pies a year?? So sorry about all the damage in Holly's house. Are her floors ruined?
VAL - Fuel prices are going up here, too, just this past week. I think word got out that Bill & Mary Z are getting ready to hit the road again. By all means, I would talk to the BBB about your security company. And also, your attorney general. So, is your upcoming trip just to visit family/friends or are you also scoping out possibilities for a new place to live. There are 9 states with no income tax which can be a big draw for retirees (WA is one), but we have ~9% total sales tax. Lots of folks move to southern WA near the Columbia because neighboring Oregon has no sales tax. They live in WA and shop in OR. Other states with no income tax is AK, SC, TX, FL, TN, WY, NV, & NH. Just in case you are interested . . . . Is your DH's truck gas or diesel? We can plug in our diesel in freezing weather. And it's been plugged in at night for the past week! Is your Farmgirl BOM Lori Holt's Farmgirl Vintage?
Yesterday was another great day! Autumn's test went very well. It was a warm (56*) and sunny afternoon so we played outside with Amara. She laughs and runs, arms spread out, when she's in the sunshine. She has a big sandy area in her yard so we're going to get her a few sand toys for her birthday. She'll be 2 on April 7. Today is our last day of babysitting.

Happy Friday!
