SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Aug 9th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Aug 09, 2023 6:44 am

Good morning,

Yesterday took an unexpected turn. I made binding and put it on my last quilt project (pictures posted!) but my Chip was acting funny. He (I? We?) broke about 7 needles in 4 days. And he was getting "nests" under his throat plate that I kept having to fish out. So I decided, since I'd just wrapped up my last WIP, he needed a time-out so we dropped him off at the Bernie Spa in Tacoma. The gal at the Bernie shop took my foot pedal out of the case but forgot to put it back. She called me later to say they had it. Double Rats! It's a 30-mile RT back (about $7 worth of gas at WA prices!) plus a $5 toll. I could leave it there for the 3 weeks until we go back to pick up Chip, but I hate to risk losing it. But for today - I have chiro, then am going to pick blackberries and do something with them. And clean my sewing room. I might make one or two characters from my Nativity Play Set just to see how it's going to go. There is a video at MSQC that I watched once, so I think it would behoove me to watch it again before I go cutting up anything.

LORI - you will get the hang of the dancing. Everyone turns the wrong direction at first! lol! Sometimes even the teacher! Does your hubby like dancing? I'm really curious about the class you are going to take. We will be waiting for your report! And how was the new to you restaurant last night?

BECCA - I'm so glad you got to facetime with Frankie. Such fun! Amara is lucky for now. Daddy is home with her for the summer and when he goes back to work (at his school) Autumn can come home and take the rest of her maternity leave. And then we will be there in Nov through mid-January. It was mentioned in passing that we might babysit when all the vacations/leaves are over. But we'll see what they work out. They will have to have daycare at least a few days a week after we leave in Jan.

TINA - it's great that Jaz learns dances and then teaches her friends. She is talented, creative, and a leader! All such great qualities! You really do a lot with chilies. I very occasionally make migas (kind of scrambled egg, etc roll-ups), and love green chilies in them. Poor Duncan! having to have so many teeth pulled! Scott lost one last year and another one is cracked. He just turned 10.

We're going to grill burgers tonite. And have a salad on the side. We went shopping yesterday got all the fixin's.

Do you know yet what's going on your plate?

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, you dropped Chip off but I'm confused about the foot pedal, they do have it or don't? .
We already vacuumed and dusted everything, it poured last night so I'm hoping my house stays clean for more than just a couple hours. It made our temp go down to 66° it was perfect!!
We're going into town to pick up 2 oil filters for Frankie's tractor, he's giving it some much needed TLC Spa Treatment. He put a new gasket on it somewhere and I ordered it a new radiator cap. It's a 1954 Oliver Row Crop 88 tractor. I told him I want him to paint it before next Spring so it feels better 🥰 it'll have a new lease on life 🥰
I'm still working on my Christmas blocks.
Supper will be the cabalacitas, no meat.
Tina

Tina, I love when it rains, because it keeps the dust to a minimum.

Becca, did they fix the dryer? I too would like to paint before next year. We'll see how that goes.

Mary, That's a bummer about Chip. I thought he just came back from the spa not to long ago. Do you need the foot pedal without the machine?

I finally had the class today. Once I got going it was fun. Only 3 of us actually did the pre sewing. I was done with my first 2 panels pretty fast. It's going to be a really pretty quilt.

Don't know what's for dinner. I'm really tired. So it might be cereal or leftovers.

Have a lovely evening.
