SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, April 4th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Apr 04, 2023 6:12 am

Good morning,

Brrr!! I think we're only 33* this morning and only going to about 47* for a high. But - no rain! And as long as it's cold, Bill is looking for indoor things to do and he volunteered to quilt my chandelier top, Hanging Gardens. Score! So he's working on that and I'll probably be able to get my cats together today. I sashed them yesterday. Each block with triple sashing and fussy cut cats for cornerstones. I'll decide on borders when I get there. And I found purrfect backing in my cat stash that I forgot I even had.

We talked to Aut & Ant last night. Baby is stubbornly breech so a CSX is scheduled for Friday afternoon, April 7th. They have 3 more nights to sleep. She'll be born on Good Friday, just like her Nonnie Mary was! I can't wait! I went to Rite Aid yesterday for a roll of baby wrapping paper, 2 packs of pink tissue, and a card. $18!! Fabric is cheaper!

CAROL - I found you on the map! Have you always lived where you live now? I live about 1/2 mile from the house I was born in (my godparents') and 2 miles from the farm where I was raised. I haven't gone far! When Bill retired he was used to supervising people so you can guess what happened when he looked around and I was the only one available to "supervise". It didn't go well. First was the battle of the kitchen. And he never even cooks!! Then, I didn't know, after 50 years, how to do laundry correctly. And he proceeded to show me the error of my ways. Grrrr..... And so it went. We finally had a 'coming to Jesus 'talk'. I talked and he listened. It was a rough year but we got through it and no trips to ER or attorney! It's been nothing but bliss in the 20 years since that first year after he retired.

BECCA - Frankie is such a cute name! I thought I liked Francie better, but I hadn't thought of Frankie. Love it! And you do have a nickname. It's Becca! I don't go by my first name, but my middle name, Mary. Does that count as a nickname? I bet D&M are anxious to see their new little DGD before the newness wears off! :D We won't get to see ours until about Thanksgiving.

JANA - a white Christmas is magical. A white Easter - not so much! This may be a clue as to why your landscaper hasn't put in an appearance yet! My DBIL texed me just 5 words ago as I was typing this. It's snowing at their house in CO, too. He isn't sending any thank you's your way!

Tonite's feast is going to be BBQ'd pork sandwiches and a green salad. Now that I've decided I almost can't wait! I'm hungry!

What's your plan?

Good morning!

We're a whooping 25 degrees! May get above freezing, but I doubt it. Currently there's no snow falling, but that will be short lived.

Dinner - chicken, mashed taters, smothered in country gravy and a veggie. I need a bit of comfort food!

I am school teacher this morning. It's a snow day, so it's a virtual day. Gracie is doing some printed work sheets and then a video. Karlie is fighting doing her work, so we are having tears. Lila is just playing, as preschool was canceled. Kari is handling Karlie. Gracie is my one to just get in and get it done. So nice! Haven't seen Ethan yet, but I'm sure he'll appear anytime.

Our handyman Tim, is working up at Sarah's installing the backsplash tile. Sarah's DH is extremely talented at doing miters. He worked as a picture framer and learned well how to make them perfect. He has the first part of the framing installed and will start all the crown moldings and then we are done! Sarah is off this week with her school's spring break.

Mary - oh boy, should I say girl, Friday! So are we counting hours yet? :)

Time to do the video, on how flowers grow - yea right, flowers here in all our snow! Then Gracie will make a flower. I have wired edge ribbon, a bamboo skewer and florist tape. We'll see how creative I get!

Hugs,
Jana

Good Afternoon,

Maryz - Glad you found my place on the map! No, I haven't always lived here. I was born in Ohio and lived in Garden Grove, Orange County in my growing up years. My DH and I moved here 24 years ago. DH and I sometimes just break down and laugh at the silly things we disagree on.
We will all wait anxiously for Friday and baby news. You will need to make an announcement when it happens! Hope your cooler weather lasts as long as Bill has quilts to quilt!

Jana - It is getting warmer here but very windy today. Your snow is melting on the roads so it won't be long. Glad Kate is handling Karlie. Having a school day at home is rough on everyone. At least the three girls have one another to play with. I am curious if Karlie is still enamored with snow as she was in the fall?

Becca - Your name is Becca to me, and I cannot imagine others calling you Frances. Denise must be thrilled to come home to the house sparkling. You take as good of care for her as she does of you! I know you will be glad to see her today and she you.

After errands this morning and lunch DH and I had an appointment at the bank. Interest rates have improved dramatically, and it is time to move some money. I have a Board meeting this evening. (So glad I am not in charge!) Dinner will be Parmesan Chicken. There was leftover rice from last night and leftover mashed potatoes from a couple of days ago so we will have those. I will make a salad and vegetable.

Oh yes she is! She was cheering at all the snow today! Karlie is only in first grade and hasn't yet grasp the concept of what a snow day off from school really is.

We are now heading into the seventh month of snow on the ground. Almost as long as Autumn has been pregnant!

Jana - I know Karlie arrived in Utah last July, but she may think it will snow until June! LOL
